Yea dude. Some think it was the Navys' F8U Crusader with it's four guns or the A-7 Corsair but I believe it was the F-4 all the way to the Wild Weasel days. I mean, come on, how can you be a bad ass w/only one engine? So what if you can land on a postage stamp in the middle of the sea in 30kt winds and 50' seas...Humhp! Anyway, when I said 'Busses' I meant Air Busses. Like A-320 series w/V2500s on them. Didn't you say "I'm now in Prattnwhitney zone"? Does that mean you work for PW?

the last real gunfighter? would that be the F4 phantom? Seen tons of those in my younger life while living in Mo. Cousin served in airforce durning viet. b52 guy, carswell af base texas, tons of f4 back then down there. I remember visiting Mac when in high school and saw harpoon and other displays. if your airline is doing busses(transportation) at least they are keeping employment going! I persently work on Busses but began on DC-9, 32 & 40+ series acft. Worked up to the -80+ series acft and all the associated engine types. Now my airline has Busses (against all our inputs to the contary for Boeing equip.) Whatcha gonna do? I know what ya mean about Mac at STL. I think that's where the last real gunfighter was built? Like the 5,700th or something like that?

interesting to see your handle there good buddy.... a320 and md80....a rarity to see harmony here. I still say the us government can do more for its industry, the other governments do..... in fact they own em! Then again, that might stifle creativity and competition.... i dunno, i've much to learn on this subject. Lived in St.Louis when it was Mac at the airport....seen alot of fighter designs fly out of lambert field. Airbus proven product, MD still in my heart!
