I'm still inclined to believe that it will be a problem for all even-numbered cubes, but we won't know for sure until the pillowed 8x8 is released.
Your camera did a great job of maintaining focus on the 7x7 at the end - Can you tell me what make/model of camera you used?

Yeah my V-Cubes also came wrapped in a DHL package. Really weird.
