Hi darrellriv, I'm sorry that you can't see the wood for the trees, most can't. There is no JKD hook kick, there is no JKD, IT'S JUST A TAG TERM FOR THE IGNORENT TO ATTACH THEMSELVES TO TO BEGIN A JOURNEY. wHEN THE JOURNEY IS OVER THE ADEPT KNOWS THERE IS NO jkd THERE IS NO NOTHING. jUST being that's all. Tell me this did the Thai's take the elbow from the ancient Egyptians? Did the Samarians know how to hook kick? What came 1st the Chicken or the Egg? Look a little deeper my brother.:-)
By: darrellriv. on 02 Dec 08, 19:54:49
where do you think the jkd hook kick came from, bruce just modified it,he also took the elbows from muay thai.jkd isn't based on just wingchun, boxing and fencing by the way, that leg trap is also found in panatukan or filipino boxing as it's called

Thanks for the vid, good demonstration on JKD, especially for slowing it down and illustrating what and what not to do. This one of the best I have seen in a while, keep up the good work.

John 7:24(KJV 1611). Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. Lol. Bruce Lee discovered the root of his own ignorence which simply answered is our own ego's. Your reply shows me that you have discovered this truth in your humility to consider things justly. There is more JKD in your post than I've seen on over a thousand clips on youtube:-)

A good demonstration. The half beat strike makes a lot of sense with that modified uppercut. I'm beginning to like what I see. Maybe I judged you too quickly.

Inosanto has only 19yrs left to achieve 'Emptiness'.lol:-)
By: jameswf13. on 16 Nov 08, 14:44:59
lol thanks for that knowledge, so I guess by the time I'm around 90 I should just about have a decent understanding of JKD. XD
By: JunFanJimi. on 16 Nov 08, 14:43:02
Well your on the way, Guru Inosanto and his cohorts will tell you that Thai Boxing is one twenty sixth of JKD.lol:-)

Oh right you know Kwoklyn :) well yes he did participate at times but mainly he was walking about correcting people which is always great, he can move so fast for a big guy. I'd love to take you up on that offer, but I will need a year or so to actually get into JKD I think. I'm a Thai boxer and only 5ft7 so I'm always looking for a close range or it's impossible for me to do anything and that seminar I attended really opened my eyes. so yeah I guess I will soon start up JKD. Thanks Jimi

Contract the disease, live with the disease, destroy the disease or die from the disease. Even when the laws are laid out in front of us not all of us will abide by them, and even fewer will truely understand them. Wing Chun is a style nothing more nothing less, Davies couldn't be further from the truth, ironic really isn't it?:-) If your ever in Nottingham let me know I'd be more than happy to bang heads with you and exchange a few kicks and punches show you what I've come to realise.
By: JunFanJimi. on 16 Nov 08, 01:21:11
Did Mr Kwoklyn participate or was he ensconced behind a camera?
By: jameswf13. on 15 Nov 08, 23:57:23
Oh and I would like to add, apparently he said he was starting up a 'family' whereby he is teaming up with a master of Wing Chun(forgot the name) as he said there was too much controversy between JKD 'stealing' a lot of Wing Chuns style so apparently he must want his pupils to really have a strong understanding of Wing Chun, so yes you are very right in saying he is 'infected' with it lol.
By: jameswf13. on 15 Nov 08, 23:45:07
Yeah he gave us a 20 minute talk about Wing Chun at the end, don't get me wrong it's all good stuff at the end of the day it's just the JKD based versions are more efficient. Oh and the seminar was at Urban Martial Arts in Leicester.

hi JamesSW13, Davies' JKD is predominantly Wing Chun infected, Lee was trying to rid himself of the disease of the system he cut his teeth in, he nearly did it too. I would'nt train with Davies although he's got a lot of very good stuff because he has too many passive moves from his Wing Chun favouritism. Which seminar did you attend was it the Nottingham one?
By: jameswf13. on 15 Nov 08, 20:26:18
Great stuff, I have just been to a seminar under Sifu Lamar Davis and we practised the four beat trapping drill a lot but I like your version of the inside Lok sao and the slide uppercut, it makes more sense to be fair, I was struggling to perfect the bar arm, and back to an example if the opponent is a lot stronger and pretty much immovable for the Chi sao then the slide uppercut seems to be a lot more practical as no matter how strong, a hit to the throat puts them down. Thank You Jimi.

Thanks Amphflick, I rember well are chats, sometimes I don't post a comment if your on the forum because I know your dealing with it more than adequately and I can go and upset someonelses apple cart, lol. There will be some more free instructional clips up real soon hope you enjoy them. Real busy at the moment finishing off 3 books on JKD which I've written, hopefully they will blow a few lids off:-)

Acts 3:21 KJV Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. Rev 5:13 13.And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying , Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power,be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

1 Tim 4:10 10.For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach , because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. 1 John 2:2 2.And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
By: JunFanJimi. on 07 Oct 08, 14:13:17
No its not but the scriptures tell us clearly that's what God is going to do, have you not read the scriptures lately? 1 Tim 2:3-6 3.For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4.Who WILL have ALL men to be saved , and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5.For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6.Who gave himself a ransom for ALL, to be testified in due time.

That is not up to you and me brother. There's only one that can decide that in absolute certainty.
By: JunFanJimi. on 06 Oct 08, 22:07:07
One final question, do you therefore believe that Gary Glitter,Pol Pot, Adolf Hitler, Judas Escariot,Charles Manson,Alistair Crowley, Anton Levay, Satan, etc, will all go to heaven eventually?
By: JKDLIFER. on 06 Oct 08, 17:55:04
Without question. We are where we are supposed to be. There are no coincidences brother.
By: JunFanJimi. on 06 Oct 08, 15:34:57
So brother you believe in the total salvation of all mankind, past, present & future, period, and therefore you do not believe in the false doctrine of eternal punishment as well. What say you to that?
