By: malcolmmcmartin. on 17 Nov 08, 04:15:29 On the underside of your neck should be the maker's initials and a little sticker, I can't make mine out anymore but it's worth a look anyway. I can't believe your neck hasn't moved on you. Take a look at the the distance between the edge of the neck to the E string, then the G string. That's the test, on mine the G is slightly closer because the weight of the neck makes is sag due to having just 3 screws. Yeah, I bought mine ... The main screw (by the tilt) is actually a bolt that screws into this weird metal plate that's just fixed in the body. The tilt is just an allen bolt that provides a spacing, it makes contact with this metal plate. You'd have to loosen all the screws, set the allen bolt to where you want it then tighten it all up again. I tried it once. Good idea but not very practical. Hi, I've never ... I've only tried the tilt thing once, but the neck is only attached to the body with 3 screws instead of the standard 4 and I have to tighten them up about every 6 months. After a few gigs the neck starts sagging down. This was a major design fault in the late 70's, but yours is an 81? Does it have 3 or 4 screws? Lots of good basses on eBay for around 300, might be tricky getting something new for that price which is really nice. I like my Michael Kelly, but that doesn't mean you would, I never did try a fretted M. Kelly, so I don't know. Ibanez is usually a good choice I've found. hey man whats up i ...
