BNSF Eastbound Stack Train

At 3:50 PM, the dispatcher lets the first train go through after #5 hit the car which it and the demolished car can be seen on the left. This is an eastbound stack train to Cicero Yard with an SD60M in the lead passing the Berwyn Metra Station. Trains are only allowed on the south track since #5 is on the middle track and the car is on the north track

DP; Distributive Power. It's a much more efficient way to run heavy trains than with all the power on the front. Also, less chance of tearing the train apart. We even run them with power in the middle or at the rear end of a yard setout.

EJ&E Southbound Route 6 Crossing Near Minooka, IL 2-20-07

As my dad was heading home from work he saw cars heading over I-80 in Minooka so he headed south to Route 6 just in time to catch it at the crossing there at 8:40 AM. The train is led by a J-Ball unit(I believe 662) and another unit. The rear has a caboose(!!!) and another unit.

Light Engine Morris, IL Liberty St. 5-1-07

CSX 2782 heads west through Morris running long hood forward. This engine came off of CSX J744 which does some switching here and it has a nice sounding Leslie S3L. Note the bell is a WRRS and is dying. It's still there today. The lights are 12X24 Safetran Incandescants. The gate in front of me has 4" L.E.D. and the other gate has 4" Incandescants.

Yes, I know some crossings that are like that. Where the bell is wired with the gates and not the base. The bell dies out when the gate lowers mainly when the bell is going to be timed out.
