And even on top of that it was proved the government allowed this cause a new super highway and port network would be build on that part of Greece soon. So they did it to save millions on compensations for the land the highways would take up...before that land was ashes.....when it was property.

I am with u all the way...but this was no natural disaster..200 individual sources of fire in 3 days..the army was called in by the politics only a week later while the generals declared their readiness to tackle the fire only hours after the first fire.plus there was a mess in the organization of fire squads..on top of that it was the only year in modern greek history that no extra summer personnel was hired for the fire department despite the fact that we knew it would be the worst summer ever

They're all as useless as each other, I think the Aussie gov't is just as terrible. I wouldn't really equate a natural disaster to religious idiocy though, human interactions appear to be much more vindictive, nature shows blind pitiless indifference. I must comment on your english though it's brilliant, my greek isn't half as good as it should be. You seem like an intelligen person, I'm impressed.

I was over there while the fires were happening, it was quite unfortunate, it's a shame that there wasn't more done to prevent them.
