Francis Blackwell was mugged and shot in an Indianapolis, IL. alley on October 7, 1962 at the age of 59. At the time he was on the road to making a comeback, recording for Prestige/Bluesville Records, and for 77 Records. His neighbor was arrested, but was later cleared and his death remains a mystery as far as who committed it. He is buried in the New Crown Cemetary in Indianapolis. Bad News, but I ...
