A Masterpiece! In my opinion one of the greatest of their collaborations. Two geniuses, Mzee Franco & Mzee Tabu Ley together in one place. Social commentary at its best!

Franco & TPOK Jazz - Coup de Foudre (Love Struck)
Posted by: kindu2006
Video duration: 595 seconds
Now, it was once said that the African was an Animal, unable to feel the higher emotions; but behold, this track, sung about love. Love, that emotion that overleaps reason, and leaves it behind to lament on its regressed state

Difficul question, but I'll try to explain: The song compares love to other God creatures. fishes in the water, animals of the lands and leaves in the forest. When you kill fishes and animals or burn leaves you don't know how they suffer since they don't talk. But you can see how much somebody suffers from a dead love. Hope this helps

Swahili must become the national language of all africans. We must begin expressing our culture, economy, politics and techonology through this wonderfull language, than we will be truly united. ... Nadina mama, rudisha mweli na row nyuma mama... Mingi fwasi niko, row ina ronga Nadina, unipé mapenzi yako yoté... Nadina bibi... (Nadina, please return your heart and spirit to me. b'cause everywhere I am, my heart suffers... please give all your love to me Nadina my sweetheart...)

Thank you, great song. I love Mbilia bel, even though some time I don't understand the words because of language barrers. But over all she is a great African asset. Thanks again.

she is singing in swahili even if you belong to the Devil, remember your creator and praise the Lord that created you. Fish, meat, sun, water, you can mould mud. burn grass, or whatever you want, but they never talk...they just sleep.. Nadina, lets pray to God to forgive our sins, even if you are a sinner, think again, think about your cretor and praise him even once a week... Nadina bring back your body and soul, Am here and my heart is pounding, give me all your love.

Mr Alexmulenge, congolese swahili is called kingwana by swahili people;a mere dialecte close to swahili. He was introduce in Congo by the arabs with their slavery traffic. Its the only language of one of the four(lingala, ciluba, kikongo and swahili-kingwana)to be an external language. I lived in butembo andi can tell you that nande from there were not speaking swahili at all untill the beginning of the 90'and today in bunia, butembo, kindu, bukavu, goma people understand well lingala;our lingua franca

This is not true. I'm from a kikongo region so I'm neutral. My mom grew up in the east of congo so she's fluent in congolese-swahili(which is consider by swahili people, in mombasa region-kenya, as a dialecte but not pure swahili).Mobutu didn't impose lingala...its the colonial power who did.actually mobutu did nothing for lingala if he wanted he could made it the official language like Nyerere did for swahili in Tanzania.Ask yourself what the main language the congolese diaspora used;LINGALA.

I just want to remind every body that Swahili language is not lost in Congo, in fact the majority of Congolese speak Swahili. Music is always produced in Lingala because during Mobutu's regime, Swahili speakers were opressed or the language its self(to be correct) was opressed. In north east, East and South East where the population is concentrated, all speak Swahili making lingala the least spoken by the rest parts of the country
