Yeah, really. It's sad. I am a westerner (shamefully, given the reputation put on by most of the idiots here) and I still cannot believe I only discovered Loudness in 2006. They are one of the best from the 80s, Akira IS one of the best ever and rock music is a joke now! True greatness is a thing of the past. And to all those using the word 'Jap' on youtube, that is considered a racial slur.

honestly, Akira is one of the top 5 metal guitarists that have probably ever lived. He will NEVER get the respect he deserved because he's in a Japanese band, and they never get taken seriously in the west. Those who have listened to this man play for 25yrs plus, KNOW he's other worldly in his ability.. the guy is plain and simply fucking amazing.

Saw these guys way back when I was 15 for "Thunder in the East" tour. Loudness was very popular at that time, so "judging one too many Jap(anese) bands" shows SPLINTERAL's age and lack of knowledge about what else is out there.Akira Takasaki was and still is a better player than 90% of players out today

Loudness is a seriously talented band that has been grossly over looked and unappreciated for the last 15 years! I can say that because that is how long ago it was when I saw them in San Francisco. One of the best live shows I have ever seen!

This sounds more like the Black Page Part 2 here. By the way I believe there is another drummer playing along. Joe Travers. An excellent player himself. Zappa was a genius who liked to challenge himself as well as his musicians. If you look at the movie "Jaws" it's basically 2 notes during the sound track. Genius. What I'm saying is simple, or difficult doesn't really matter as long as it makes sense.

This was more of a challenge for the young Bozzio. It was Frank's idea. He wrote it, and Bozzio played it. What's wrong with a challenge once in a while? I've seen Vinnie Colaiuta play it, and by far Bozzio plays it the best. Chad is a great player, but head to head Bozzio has to carry him through it to make it sound right. As far as difficulty, the piece was constructed to be difficult. So what??? It's totally subjective. The piece isn't played that fast which makes it that much more difficult.

this is a contentious issue and a highly subjective one what your saying is that a difficult piece is a better piece of music because it is difficult and by rights should require a higher degree of technical ability to play. right? but in saying that you discount song writers who may right over 3 chords who can do a lot with 3 chords, wouldnt you say that being able to turn 3 chords into an engaging piece of music worth while? rather than having a mass of notes that dont go anywhere?

I'd like to see the suits left out of it. All indie recording, the bands and sound people making the money, CD's selling for $10.00. However, downloading for free is a reality. If bands are good enough they can make money gigging. This will eventually drive a lot of people away from the idea of being professional musicians, and separate the sheep from the goats. There are a lot of bad bands out there...along with a lot of real good ones that aren't making a dollar, I admit.
