Bret didn't want to lose to shawn but he would have jobbed to Steve, Rock, Ken Undertaker and others whom were ready. HBK had an "injury" so he wouldn't fight Bret. Shawn didn't even want to lose to Stonme Cold at WM XIV because he thought Austin was to early and it took himself longer to get the title then Austin. LOL....I really wish Bobby Hennan was still commentating. I agree as far as the finishes go. It would be better to have clear cut winners, but in the case of WCW at this time, the commentators made the heels to sound like cowards so it seemed impossible for them to win anyway. I think this is why TNA sort of takes the idea of there being no true bad guys, because that way everything seems more level.

The logic was, if a match finished without a clear winner (due to ring invasion, count-out, etc.) then the bookers could avoid handing legit defeats to the big names. Apparently, they thought fans would stop supporting their favourite wrestlers if they saw them lose. The problem with that policy is, if nobody loses, NOBODY WINS EITHER. There's nothing less satisfying than a match without a conclusion, and this clip is a perfect example of that. What a waste of talent, what botched storytelling.
