this song was played at my grandads funeral a few months ago, i miss him so much tbh he asked for this song and its made me love it so much a young girl like me doesnt usually like songs like this but yeah i love the lyrics and his voice is amazin tbh rip grandad miss u so much gone but never forgotten best man ever always in our hearts :) x

His dad was skeptical about music and pursuing it as a career. He felt that architecture was the way to go which was what John had been studying. Up until the 4th album it looked like dad knew what he was talking about. Then came Peter, Paul and Mary's "Jet Plane" followed by "Country Roads" and the rest is history. When he recorded Rocky Mountain High, all hell broke loose in his career and the world of music has been all the richer for it.

Can you believe when John Denver first was trying to make it, he was told to not give up his day job because he didn't have the voice or looks to make it in music? John Denver wa amazing!

This song is my all time favorite. John Denver's music is from beyond my time, but I got into his music when I was picking songs to record for my first album. This is a song that I have done at almost every show since then, and I dedicate the song both to John and my late producer, because it was his favorite on the record, too. Such a shame that he died so young, because I would have loved to see him in concert, because I was 16 when he died. The closest I've gotten was seeing him on tv.

Not enough peolple know about his last live concert, produced by Sony, "John Denver-The Wildlife Concert", in 1995. Buy it (eBay, or Amazon, etc.)now...you'll treasure it forever and even want to buy some as gifts.The best concert ever, from start to finish, it surprises, never disappoints. His genius was not recognized while he was here with us. Watch this and you'll see just what a true genius and talent he really was.RIP John, we love and miss you, but Heaven has a hell of a choir now!

I remember the "undersea of Jacques Cousteau" and I was mesmorized too... I loved the show. This song was the ultimate tribute song to that wonderful group of explorers on the Calypso! I miss that show and even more the singer/songwriter who gave the Calypso the praise and attention it deserved ! God Bless John Denver and Jacques Cousteau. You are missed!
