I guess irony knows no bounds as Greg Solomon attacks the famous 'Atheist' video for using quotes out of context and having inaccurate or misleading information in it.

I want a cosmic calendar for my room!! Such an amazing explanation of time & space/astronomy for the layman!!

The Music at the end is so great..*tear* I love this part of the show with the cosmic Calendar. Carl Sagan was a very, very, very smart man. R.I.P.

I would not like to live in space when we can't even take care of Earth! This planet made us; we'd be like parasites to another which would not even be habitable to us anyways like Earth is! I'm more concerned of fireball destroying us like the dinosaurs! Of course, we'd think it were a nuke and all hell would break loose surely leading to our extinction! Who would save us then? We should concentrate on Earth's health but of course with eyes at the stars!

But if that political party takes on Bush, Americans will still vote for Bush !!! hehehehehe. Or worse, the leader of this politcical party (in accordance with the human desire to destroy) might talk about dropping nuclear bombs on Mars !!

what a fitting tribute to carl to add this video 10 years to the month after his death. i remember when i heard he died in december 1996. i cried my eyes out. he used to brief apollo astronauts before they left the earth. he was highly involved in the voyager projects. he helped end the cold war. and i think he was more brilliant than albert einstein. and when he left the earth - nobody could fill his shoes like he did. cosmos is still showed on tv - a testament to its accuracy!

What can you say? Sagan rocked. This vid really puts it in perspective. Human life is so recent that maybe other life is just now evolving too and that is why we see no other signals of intelligence. Perhaps we were the first to emerge.

i believe it...do you really think that things stay the same forever? i'm not saying doomsday is approaching, but i wouldn't say we're following sagan's advice either. and his is telling us a valuable lesson...we only have one earth.

Holy crap! I was thinking this not more than 3 minutes before reading this!!

Indeed. And on the the Pentagon's joint Chiefs as well.

Actually Sagan played a big part in ending the Cold War with his "nuclear winter" theory. It was very influential on Gorbachev's thinking.
By: IanParedes. on 27 Aug 07, 07:32:55
But, an all too likely escalated nuclear war could have human civilization bombed back to the stone age, thus destroying our chance as a race to advance in quality of life and the likelihood of space colonization. So, it's still a threat worth acknowledging and preventing up to this day, over 10 years after the man telling us this has already died.

The human species could be destroyed in nuclear war
By: Clausfarre. on 03 Jul 07, 18:07:53
Having lived his life in the era of the cold war he always talked about humans destroying themselves. I don't buy into that theory all the way. We may be enslaved in 1,000 years of religious darkness with islam on the rise or we may live to avoid that. But all humans killed and the earth destroyed? I don't think so.

His elegant use of words seems to inspire hope in humanity in a way that i only thought possible with young children who have not yet seen the darker aspects of the world. R.I.P. Carl Sagan.

Has a great philosophy

If more people followed Dr. Sagan's example, World peace may actualy be feasible.
By: BlytheG. on 08 Jan 07, 21:29:08
I totally agree. His entire perception of life is deeper than anything I've ever seen.

Carl Sagan > Religion/Superstition They need to make a political party based on his ideas.
