This looks like a successful marriage between old school, side-scrolling goodness and nicely refined graphics. I think developers need to get out of this MUST-MAKE-EVERYTHING-3D slump. This game is a perfect example of how awesome graphics can be applied to a 2D environment.

We do. But they already remade Megaman X (to Maverick Hunter X)and Megaman 1. (to Powered-Up) Give or take about a year, and maybe they'll consider a remake of Megaman X2-X6. I personally don't like X5 or X6, but they're great enough to even be part of that series.

Yeah anime and manga is pretty much conveyorbelt fiction. They have about 4 different genre formulas and they follow these formulas closely to crank out a seriese as cheaply as they can.
