The Soviet Story - Why killing is essential to communism
Posted by: rasheedux
Video duration: 325 seconds
Global video hits: 6170
Communist regimes around the Globe are responsible for a greater number of deaths than any other political ideal or movement, including Nazism (death toll totals more than 94 million people). In the USSR alone communists killed more than 20 million people. Where are the seeds of evil that makes killing and torturing so essential to the ideology of Communism?

Politically Incorrect- Vietnam/ Communism
Posted by: librarien
Video duration: 599 seconds
Global video hits: 27399
A discussion of Vietnam and the issue of communism. Good show with Gene Simmons, the always thoughtful Christopher Hitchens, Whoopi Goldberg and Dennis Prager. Bill Goes against convention wisdom and states that the Vietnam war may not have been a waist like every one thinks. I have to admit I don't quite know where I stand on whether that war was worth it myself.

Communism is the very definition of failure.

"Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely" The biggest problem for big governments like Communist, Nazi, tyranny, fascist, or whatever other form of totalitarianist government you can think of.

In a communist world there would be no need for weapons, but we wouldn't destroy them before we've ultimately won the revolution and destroyed capitalism. Who would be foolish enough to do the same with one of the greatest weapons of all: the state? Anarchists, clearly.

Good point. However, I wouldn't refer to these as nationalizations. More a compensation efforts, since these so-called 'nationalizations' don't involve expropriations of the sector. Even partially.

Hello Bakunin1876. Yes, you do have a point. The term is still problematic, because it leads ordinary people's thoughts to one party states. To them it would sound like advocating for a "more benevolent" dictatorship, of which isn't a refreshing thought no matter the degree.

National Socialism is that which the yearning of our hearts cry out for, the 'Common Dream' that is the 'Perfect Society'

Marx was great, but I have to say Bakunin was better.

Well, above all, the " dictatorship of the proletariat" thing (Which, I know, is easily interpereted in other ways than true dictatorship, though Marx's activities and writings, in Germany especially, seem to show he meant dictatorship). It is silly to think that absolute equality can be acheived without socialism COMBINED with absolute liberty, which can be achieved only by smashing the State, not making it stronger. There are other little quibbles, but that's the central disagreement.

To Khan Slayer, Marx was buried in London becase he was exiled from the German states, Fance and Belguim, so he went to London for political Freedom and lived there till his death.

Marx was indeed rather remarkable, but I agree with Bakunin in his disagreemenets over certain aspects of his theory.

Here here, JohnnyDope. Still, orthodox Marxism is slightly too risky- the "dictatorship of the proletariat" concept is too easily misinterpreted. Anarcho-Communism has been by preference for a while (though I may as well just say Anarchist, the -Communist part makes it sound more.... angry. A left wing, benign, but still angry version of Fascism).

The defractors who keep repeating the same nonsense about communism, haven't even bothered to listen to the video's major points explaining exactly why the USSR was not socialist, but state capitalist. Get your damn analysis straight and stop mentioning the USSR and Stalin over and over again. This video rejects them in the first place.

It's this type of thinking that blocks us from forming an actual communist, socialist, or really any utopian society. You don't think these things are learned? Well they are. That's why not everybody is greedy and also why not everybody is a murderer.

By: jiros00. on 13 Dec 08, 11:32:45
The communists always defend their morality by saying you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. The trouble is that you only ever get broken eggs and no omelette.
