This is the second time I write this, it won't post. Download the trial version from Divx's website and see if it works. You can also get the K-Lite codec, which is free and try that out. I've got both on my computer and it works flawlessly. They cover everything for me. See if it works and let me know if you still have issues. Hope it helps.

If your video is too long it may happen. You can limit everything on your computer including the videos or music you have so you can gain length by reducing wuality. Hope it points you into the right direction.

The reason you only hear the sound is because you don't have the right codecs installed. Also, if you want to install different codecs be aware of the conflicts that may occur between them. Hope it helps

this worked really good, but when i try to import my movie into 'windows movie maker' it doesn't work! it just works as an mp3 format sound, i tried to move it to the video slot, but it doesn't let me. i also tried to play it on that little screen preview thing, but nothing, just sound. just so you'd know it works on media player. please help anyone:D

thanks man but i found something better I use FairUse Wizard 2 to convert dvd to xvid, dvix, h264 or even mkv a lot better than vidome btw i got vidome worked in my machine i have vista 64bit too

I have Googled and downloaded about 5 different programs to try and get a 3 minute bit of home movie off of a dvd and I've been tearing my hair out for 2 days. This worked and I'm SO happy. The only issue I had was that I had to choose a different codec for audio. There was an issue when I downloaded Vidomi and that must have been the little piece that didn't download correctly. I picked an MPEG4 one and it worked. Thank you thank you thank you!

I think I found the answer, you remember the reserve space option in the output size option that he selected 0 MBs, try setting it to at least 5MB, it seemed to solve the problem although you will only truly know once you finish the project, let me know if this is of help to you

every time I use it, a small protion at the end of the video is cut off, the missing portion becoming a second avi file, how do I ensure the entire video is kept in one whole piece?
