I have a problem, wehn I turned mine on I accidently switched the connection from the single black cable to something else and now I can't get the menu to appear on the screen to change it. Channel 3 and 4 don't work. I even tried unplugging the box and starting over but it won't work at all. Any ideas?

Be very careful Big Brother is watching your every move and if you make the wrong move the MIB will come knocking on your door and haul you away!!!!

The v chip is NOT a transmitter. It only blocks signals from being accessed by the TV by receiving data from the program data stream. Depending on how it is programmed it will allow or block the program signal based on the rating data in the program data stream.

As far as the cable co. and the cable box it is the cable box sends info. back to the cable co. Not your TV. When connected to a cable system your TV is set to one channel and never changed. If your TV is cable ready you don't have a cable box and therefore there is no programming by the cable co. In our area what you are able to watch is controlled by filters between the main cable line and the lime that comes into your home. You can only watch the channels allowed by the filters.

I'm getting very tired of this whole thing. PLEASE research the differences between a TV picture tube and a camera tube. The TV picture tube does not have the required circuitry to capture a picture therefore your TV CAN NOT transmit a picture of you in your undies to somewhere in the ethos. Yes the front of the screen glows in response to the light from the flashlight. However as I said wrote it is only the phosphorous on the inside of the tube. This is not "trap"ing of light like cameras.

Sorry, that should say "I don't care WHAT anyone says."

These DTV converter boxes scare the hell out of me. I have a converter box hooked-up to an old analog tv set and I'm constantly inspecting it, wondering if I'm being watched. I don't care with anyone says, this FORCED analog to digital switch has nothing to do better picture/more channels...Big Brother is watching, people.
By: saraph83. on 06 Jan 09, 01:05:45
the tuner circuit is the signal transceiver how do you think the cable co can program there box and then have it relay the signal back to know that it worked? so in actuality they know what stations you watch. as for the flash light experiment that just shows that a tv can trap light like a cameras operation and vchips can possibly transmit that "snapsnot" and transmit it through the tuner circuit

By: tug97. on 04 Jan 09, 05:50:34
no! didn't you watch the video you only need this box if you watch tv from an antenna!! if you have basic cable or satelite or a flat screen tv YOU DON'T NEED A CONVERTER BOX U N D E R S T A N D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By: EyesOpenWide1870. on 02 Jan 09, 05:38:52
I sure hope that no one's life has to depend on the electronic devices you make! All you are doing with the flash light is exciting the phosphorus on the inside of the tube which continues to glow for a while after you turn off the light. Also this only applies to televisions with picture tubes.

I build electronic devices for the military maybe i can shed some light on your false claim of how a tv works. Sit in a Dark room without any lights on... take a flashlight and hold it to a tv for about 3 min. about 3-4 inches away from it... then shut the flash light of and watch and realize that a tv can be used as a camera

Dekage?
By: EyesOpenWide1870. on 19 Dec 08, 00:54:58
A television camera crt has all of these. This how a television picture is captured to be broadcast to a television receiver by a transmitter. It is impossible for a television receiver to broadcast a television picture. It does not have the required parts to do so.
By: EyesOpenWide1870. on 19 Dec 08, 00:54:13
Do you really understand the difference in operation of a television receiver CRT and the operation of a television camera CRT? I think not. The television receiver crt has no target on which an image is focused through a lens which is then scanned by an electron beam part of which is reflected on to a electron detector. Which is then broadcast by a transmitter.

such converters allready exists for over a dekage, eventrough next year your,re forced to use this converter or buy a digital compatible to,or you will get no signal at all. but i wish that fullhd will getting standardized and that not only sd digital tv but even 720p and 1080i gets history !!!!!!!!!
By: AmbientMusic. on 17 Dec 08, 07:29:47
Oh contrair. Your television monitor COULD in theory be used as a camera in the room you're viewing it in. It could take 'sweep' a picture every 30 seconds or so without the viewer noticing. Not that it IS happening, but it is certainly possible.
