Michael Jackson's version sucked? What are you fucked up? Seriously wtf? I like this performance but theres no way Michael jackson's versioned "SUCKED"... Maybe you just dont like his style but it cant suck unless your a stuck up pansy and never even gave it a chance and only thought about david cooks version which is incomparable in the first place.

I think the fact that David sang the awesome and totally unknown (to American Idol audiences) Cornell version of a huge pop hit was what the judges were praising. I mean look at how many people here hate him for "ruining" Billie Jean. Oh and all the judges later mentioned that they knew he was covering Cornell. It was his performance and his courage in taking on this version that I think is what the judges were praising...oh and his awesome voice.

David Cook had a great performance but he sang Chris Cornell's version of Billie Jean. Originality points should go to Chris Cornell for the remake and Michael Jackson for the original rather than David. Best of luck to him though -- he is talented though.
