The majority of traffic arrests,(which is what a stop it) are un lawful. Cops need to get educated on what the Law is. Its not Statutes, Acts, regulations or anything else is LAW. These are tax collecters with guns and bad attitudes, what comes around goes around.

It is a big deal. It does not matter what other states require or do not require--it Georgia you are NOT required to notify, and if the "law enforcement" in Georgia is not aware of something as simple as that--then how in the hell can we trust ANY of them to actually know the laws that they are supposed to enforce? These "cops" deserve to lose their jobs and absolutely deserve to be sued in court--it is attitudes like this that make it impossible to trust any of them--period.

This "punk" had a valid permit to carry in the state of Georgia. Also it is NOT required by law to inform officers you are carrying in Georgia. This "punk" was pulled over for a BROKEN TAILIGHT. How would YOU (speaking of ignorant) feel having done nothing wrong (this was an equipment failure of his truck that he was unaware of) having a gun stuck in your face, handcuffs put on you, and detained for a BROKEN TAILIGHT? the gun is not even an ISSUE. He had a clean record and a PERMIT to carry.

I live in Georgia. In Georgia it is NOT required to notify an officer that you have a gun. The guy who this happened to, got a letter of apology stating that the officer was wrong about that. According to the letter, both officers were disciplined concerning this stop and their subsequent actions and behavior. This county in Georgia has several incidents similar to this. Unfortunately, they will only learn by lawsuit it seems, these guys think they ARE the law, not enforcers of the law. Pity.

at 1:19, the passenger-side-cop says, "But you're required to notify the officer when you have a pistol." Apparently there was a pistol that the second cop saw that the man was supposed failed to mention. Don't know where this is, but in some states, it is the law to tell the officer if you have a gun in the vehicle, permit or not. I wish the cop hadn't used that explitive, but it isn't exactly a big deal.

I'm sorry, but my father is a police officer and I would want someone notifying him that they have a gun beside them. Yes, maybe the office wasn't tactful, but if this punk had shot him, his wife and children would be without a husband and father. Maybe some people should look at the whole video instead of parts of it, before making ignorant comments.
