a lot of people don't realize where the beach boys came from in music. They got their start on the fringes really with the whole 50's "surf sound" which was actually never really popular outside of California. They really actually had a wide arc of musical change over their career. That's why they got to be so popular. They changed well with the times which is how bands stayed relevant then. Today I can't think of any bands that do that as well as they did.

S2000 always performs well for what it is. As does the 350Z. Id take the 350. For all the vids ive seen from this show comparing the same cars over and over, it seems these two are the best performers for what they are. 350Z in most vids starts towards the rear as they stagger them ranked on performance and it always moves forward, as does the s2000.

Exactly. The S2000 makes pretty decent power in range but outside of the powerband its relatively docile. With some solid midrange torque to carry it to the 6500 mark, it would be vicious. Not only that but the S2000 is not as light as people think it is. Its my choice between it and the 350 but for a roadster it is not the lightest. AE86 is around the same weight if not lighter with a solid roof. I love it anyway.

I think the S2000 has just the right amount of power. What it doesn't have is practical torque; it's spread too thin for overtaking when out of gear. However, I am confident in saying no other roadster can carry its momentum through bends more stably than the S2000, uncontested. On the other hand, it's bit high-strung for a roadster and the first-gen AP1 had probably scared off many prospective buyers with too much feedback.

i also own an s2000 and that is the exact problem i believe honda needed to asses, the power. although the car is great and awesome, to compete the s2000 needs more power. sure, people can ask, "how fast do you need to go?" but along side that, "what are your competitor cars running?"

Very good race overall, just wish it was not wet. That damn Cayman looked rough to drive, while the Z4M left everyone in the dust. I own an S2K and am now looking at getting a Z4M or SLK 55 AMG. While the S2k is a great car it needs at least 60 more HP to compete with today's cars.

Yea M6 owns (friends got one) but who cares about body? Only thing R8 has on M6 is 4 wheel drive, which is a great plus obviously, But I love M6, and M3's and I would prefer one of those over a R8 anyday. m6 = awesome E36 m3 05 = awesome

To be honest, the R8's design is fantastic & cutting-edge, but its drag performance has been terrible. It couldn't win against any M5 or M6, nor against 911 or F430. Perhaps it could only race with the like of F360.

I dont think you should be much worried about weight coz it also helps the car to remain stable at high speeds unlike the Japanese cars. I think you know that. If you really want light weight and extreme acceleration etc, buy an Ariel Atom. But,that would neither be very good choice if you are driving that car to a star hotel for a dinner party, for that I think you should by the Aston Martin V8 Vantage or DB9.....

Good point Moe, just to correct you, the Le Mans series has nothing to do with F1 They are different events. Just like you would never compare Nascar with Indy you would never mix Lemans and F1. Thought that you might want to enhance your vast knowledge.

I've owned a M5 and an R8. M5 and M6 might have more power and gadgets but the R8 is a far better driving experience. The M6 would be left behind on a track plus the SMG sucks.

I have to say that after owning both an '06 M6 and a '07 997 Turbo the M6 (I did put the Dinan Chip that raises the bhps to 515 and takes out the limiter) the M6 is by far my favorite. It is the only practical supercar there is. The Turbo is great for about 26 miles on any given outing.
