Horror and Brides of Dracula were my 2 favs. Cushing plays Van Helsing in both. Anyone recognize him from Star Wars? He was Grand Moff Tarkin. And of course this Dracula was also in a Star Wars. Lee played Count Dooku and also Sauroman in LoTR.

Good all round version of the Dracula myth with a twist at the end that is pure class and im surprised they have never used it before in other vamp flick , this ones the best. The low budget sequels are poor at best so stay clear.

It is because people can not differentiate history from fiction. Don't be to worried, everyone with a brain knows that Dracula was written by an Irishman as a fictional work. It's not history, it's like the movie 300. Based on a movie based on a comic book, made into another movie. No one takes this Dracula stuff as living history. It's just a movie with Gary Oldman. Transylvania, nowadays Romania?? Huuuh? Transylvania is a region part of Romania, that before that was part of Hungary (respectively the Austro-Hungarian Empire). It was given back to Romania after World War I. It had short spans of time through which it was a state, but mostly they had to pay tribute (to otomans par example). But that's the 1500's. Oh and Lugos is in hungarian, Lugoj in Romanian and Lugosch in german. And it's a beautiful city, so visit it sometime! yours truly, a romanian girl

si fue censurado durante un par de años por tener escenas elevaditas por la epoca por que en esa que una mujer eneñase por ejemplo una muñeca ya era signo de provocacion por y ademas alguien que estuviese relacionado con la sangre o que la bebiese era lo mas inapropiado del mundo en esa epoca y pasndo a otro tema la pelicula no tiene practicamentenada que ver con el libro que como tu as dicho es una obra de arte pero la pelicula a su manera tan bien es una obra de arte y una bellisima pelicula

ademas el libro en todo caso no fue censurado, por aluciones eroticas, si no por la naturaleza obscura del relato, y la crueldad que este muestra, caso concreto, es esl asesinato de una mujer y su bebe a manos de las vampiersas, en este caso Coppola busco atraer al publico, utilizando escenas de sexo muy explicitas, ya que estas escenas eran clasicas en las peliculas de terror de los años 80`s y 90`s

no me opongo a que varien un poco la historia, pero cambiarla totalmente, eso es en verdad una muy mala decicion, estamos hablando de Drácula una obra maestra por excelencia, claro que no iba a esperar que la dirigiera su autor eso es mas que claro, pero la sutileza de su narrativa, el poder de la historia, y lo oscuro del relato, dan a conocer que en verdad Coppola no tenia ni idea de que historia estaba llevando a la pantalla grande.

Gary Oldman is great in this scene. Then again, he is great in just about all of his movies. Anyway, actors only get a quick language lesson for their movie roles. So I am sure that their accent is very strong. To figure out what actors are saying in other languages that I speak, I sometimes have to go backwards by using the English translation to figure out how I would say phrases and match them by sound!

I like how they incorporated the effects of the 90's to recreate London 1897 in the movie. Even though this was the bloodiest movie i've ever seen, and sexually disturbing one at that. The plot and how it all ties together is truly spectaculer 5/5.
