Imagine: Nick Drake, on the few occasions he performed live, had ONE guitar. Imagine how long it took him to retune for each song (if we assume he played with no regard for respective tunings). Casual audiences, no doubt challenged by this shy and quiet performer, would surely have had their patience tested - and it's no surprise Nick ultimately lost the confidence to play live to unfamiliar people.

Great to see someone of less prodigious years show real taste in music. Warms my heart to see (and hear)some of the youth of today takng interest in the true genius of Nick. Never a more sublime, enigmatic and sadly tragic character. He died just as I was growing into my musical taste and along with others like Tim Buckley (Jeff's dad) will always be sorely missed. There's just something about his voice that gets you at your deepest core. Why did he have to die? I sort of understand now how kids felt about Kurt Cobain, but Nick was so gentle. Hard to be believe he was an athlete in school! By now, everybody knows the story about how the late Heath Ledger was totally obsessed with this dude.

I have to disagree. Elliot Smith doesn't play very much like the way famous artists do and did. Drake and Smith both have a very basic music, not as a bad thing. Soft, quiet music, and a voice. Pretty simple. That's probably a bad explanation, but I think you guys can understand what I mean. I do see the connection, in the music and the lyrics. Plus I think Eliot Smith killed himself too.

Wow... That's actually really informative for kids who probably watch it... You don't see that anymore. Nowadays with shows for kids, they just try to stuff everything into their minds...(Think Dora the Explorer) but with this style, it seems a lot more interesting. They don't talk down to kids, thinking they can only understand a few things.
