i think the lyrics convey an important message, even though they may seem simplistic. i guess it's all about distress. teribble things happen to people by accident; but some people get treated even worse by nature and have to live with it all along (the girl in the 2nd verse). still, the conclusion is that the worst kind of opression is the kind inflicted on you by other people who lack consciousness (like the last boy's parents).
