I'm an American and in my opinion Dusty Springfield is an extraordinary singer with a sound to match! Since I heard that song, I started to be a fan of hers and old school music.

sswiderski, You are 100% correct. I graduated from high school in 1971 near Santa Barbara, and the junior and senior women (not girls) all wore dresses, and at the school dances, they permed their hair, wore dresses, hosiery, makeup, and heels. Guys are helpless before such a visual manifestation of femininity. Now, walk through any Wal-Mart in California, and look at the women in the aisles. They look like refugees from a Jenny Craig clinic, in godawful rags. Smart women know what men like!

Strength, character, true vocal talent, no enhancements, fantastic song writing ... what has happened to modern music? When did we fall from grace....

I love the song and adore Dusty Springfield, but I have to wonder just how much hairspray did she use that day?

The black music of today has no connection with roots in the 60s. That was a big time for black music cause there wasn't much else until the Beatles. The degrading way that black women are treated verbally is disgusting. And to get high on the charts you gotta be carrying around a couple of slugs inside you. That's not music it's hoolagonism. Black music of the 50s fed the groups in England until they reset the way music is played and perceived.

I meant this post as a response to yours: Or, can't be achieved with stupid & shallow ghetto gutter home boy/girl attitudes and phony-baloney names like P-P-Diddy-Poo, Hot Ice, Queen Flotilla, and Jell-O. LOL! These performers today need subtitles so that the intelligible Human Race can actually understand their nonsensical babblings, grunts and violent primeval bursts of primordial language-type utterances.

Awesome! Take control! We don't have to tolerate what is spoon fed the hypnotized masses.
