I do alot of speeches and teach a few classses .. and you do learn to make your voice sound more welcoming .. you have mastered that .. I listen to your voice and it's THERE .. you've learnt how to fix your voice to sound listenable .. it's so welcoming .. mines is like that too but not as good.

No problem mate. A fast dual-core can render 1080p though (without GPU backup). An E8400 can, an E6750 can.
By: lawrencejob1. on 29 Dec 08, 22:21:40
True. I just wanted to be sure you knew that 1) you'd need a pretty good (and compatible) card. And 2) Bluray and CPU-rending just doesn't happen (and won't for some time).
By: GCVos. on 29 Dec 08, 22:16:13
I said that because if you haven't got a new ATI or nVidia card with UVD or PureVideo HD, you're CPU will try rendering video. Coolmanjasdeep jumped to the graphics card right away, and said Blu-Ray would 'wreck' my video card. I'm still wondering how that is possible if a video card that CAN run HD video, has a universal decoder built it, which enables it to run HD video anyway.
By: lawrencejob1. on 29 Dec 08, 22:08:33
So what you're saying is that your graphics core is doing the rendering, as I said before. Why did you say this then; "No it isn't. Normally it's the cpu." ANYWAY just wait for a bit 'til the Bluray market cools down.
By: GCVos. on 29 Dec 08, 22:02:36
With UVD the GPU takes over the entire load. I can run ANY video (in HD) with virtually no CPU load.
By: lawrencejob1. on 29 Dec 08, 21:56:18
Well the CPU can if it's good enough, but GPUs are recommended as they're optimized for multiple simultaneous calculations. That's the difference between onboard chipsets and dedicated cards. 1080p (30Hz) has lower demand than 1080i (50Hz), so your computer may be able to play it. However, Bluray supports both. Just research it properly. It may be, by pure chance, that your computer can handle a bluray drive. Just don't expect anything smooth - if your CPU's busy, everything else'll lag.
By: GCVos. on 29 Dec 08, 21:49:29
No it isn't. Normally it's the cpu. But I have an HD3850 with UVD so I can run 1080p MP4 and WMVHD, no problem at all.
By: lawrencejob1. on 29 Dec 08, 21:47:05
I don't get why it's hard to understand... bluray means rending 1080i at real-time. That's the graphics card's job, not the bluray drive.
By: GCVos. on 29 Dec 08, 21:38:17
I don't care about video cards. I was talking about Blu-Ray, and you guys continue about graphics cards. Don't ask me why...
By: lawrencejob1. on 29 Dec 08, 21:27:16
What's that got to do with video cards?
By: GCVos. on 29 Dec 08, 21:26:02
What doesn't work? So far, I've seen reviews on two software packages which could easily handle Blu-Ray.
By: lawrencejob1. on 29 Dec 08, 19:31:47
I was thinking that too... I can imagine there being the occasional manufacturer that wants you to use their proprietary PowerDVD or whatever they called it now. Oh dear. Can't spell..
By: lawrencejob1. on 29 Dec 08, 19:30:20
Not work. Wait for the technology to become better established.
