I've seen and heard a lot of performances of this great tune by Bach and this is probably the best one. Toccata & Fugue in d minor really opens an opportunity for the organist to use the whole wide scale of the organ and no one I have seen or heard so far utilizes this as well as Karl Richter, who was a genious! I am really sad that he died so young, as he could have done even more greatness to music of this world. Bless the memory of Karl Richter!

Un'opera mastodonticamente insuperabile... così come la sua interprtazione da parte di Richter. Egli era uno dei pochi geni al mondo in grado di donarci delle esecuzioni della fuga di Johann Sebastian veramente attendibili, per quanto riguarda l'originale interpretazione dell'autore. Erano due giganti in assoluto, anche sotto il punto di vista dell'espressione, che aveva luogo non solo nel pentagramma, ma persino nella tastiera di un tale organo (strumento meccanico). Riposino entrambi in pace.
