The problem is that fraud would be rampant. Plus it would not solve the problem in the housing market, it would just forestall it. I assume you have an adjustable rate mortgage so maybe the government could set the rate of all those types of mortgages at an affordable amount. You would keep your house. Banks would still make their money. Everyone wins

I'm split. I think what should happen is this: the government buy up the houses that are about to foreclose or have recently foreclosed, and then the government work with the owners of the houses so that they can make their payments. Writing a blank check to banks is ridiculous, that much is true. The interest rate on my mortgage is rising, however, and if it rises too much more, I won't be able to make payments. That's not my fault, that's the bank. I shouldn't be punished, you know?

Industry has greedy CEO. No bail out of anyone, least the dollar fails and goods and services rise. Bush's tax cuts failed because they were a pro coorporate move not a pro free market move. You must understand the difference. George Bush was never for the free market, he has no idea how it even works. You can't just cut taxes and leave regulations in place. It won't do enough.
