Eurofighter Demo. with Scary Ending!
Posted by: patton303
Video duration: 71 seconds
Global video hits: 615736
This pilot had his program cancelled by ATC after he almost pancakes on the runway.
The power of the Eurofighter Typhoon is well demonstrated when the pilot barely pulls out of a potential pancake.

'STOPGLOBALSTUPIDITY' Oh the irony ! LOL

They might be survivable, but even at the moment, the USAF is complaining about the shortage of Raptors, they're just too expensive to mass produce. Supposing we went to war with China, Iran and Russia. 127 Raptors wouldn't be enough to deal with the airforces of all of them. All that's going to save the US at the moment is the F-15/16, after they're scrapped, the US is screwed.

Besides, if you go into a conflict better armed, then you'll most likely do better during the conflict, and live to fight again. That is, the survivability and superiority of F-22s makes them cost effective in actual, likely air combat scenarios.

"...WW3 where the attrition rate will be to big for such expensive aircraft..." I think you're overlooking the relevance of intercontinental thermonuclear war. You think there will be any fighter plane assembly plants left standing to make your "attrition rate" applicable?
By: kp66pk1616. on 08 Jan 09, 02:47:34
Awesome fighter. British, French, Russian and Chinese aircraft are the best. Screw the US and their F-22/35s, they're too expensive and complex to be of any use in a major conflict, e.g. WW3 where the attrition rate will be to big for such expensive aircraft to stay in the war for too long. The US should stick with simpler aircraft, F-15 and F-16, not the F-18 though.

No I'm talking about the 1.24 Mach of the Typhoon!
By: JON110988. on 08 Jan 09, 01:31:44
Oso1G, You are superior in your lack of knowledge, the BMW 5 series famously had more computing power than any 1970's shuttle which went to space, so obviously the EF has slightly more advanced technology than a BMW 5 series, which is proof that you are a bellend, were are you from? the middle east or something lol.
By: JON110988. on 08 Jan 09, 01:24:16
Talk about stupidity lmfao, i hope you dont mean Mach 2.8 when talking about the F-22.
By: STOPGLOBALSTUPIDITY. on 08 Jan 09, 01:11:48
Typhoon M1.2........ F22 Raptor M2.8 Any questions?

eurofighter??? what is it? it looks like a submarine xD
By: griffmasterchris. on 07 Jan 09, 23:04:34
i love the way people argue over which plane is better in modern times, the F-22 raptor, the Eurofighter blah blah blah, end of the day, these things are pretty fucking amazing, all modern military machines are, if we ever hit WW3 and it was between every single nation in the world it would be one hell of a fight, with land sea and air being so advanced it would be brillaint to watch from a ring side seat.
By: cuistranada. on 07 Jan 09, 22:48:48
this is a great plane I hope argentina get it for the air force of my country.
By: wa2711. on 07 Jan 09, 21:47:26
By: ApopheniaIV. on 07 Jan 09, 20:20:47
Actually I think it was Mig-33. I cant remember the number - the one that could hover and fly backwards anyway. Made a terrible noise - put the Eurofighter prototype to shame.
By: ApopheniaIV. on 07 Jan 09, 20:15:50
I notice you have Farnborough air show footage MrPikon. Mig-31 was displayed there in 1998.
By: ApopheniaIV. on 07 Jan 09, 20:12:41
Mig-31 was already on the market in 1997 when my colleagues were still working on the EuroFighter.

"Over-budgeted, over ten years behind schedule" Over-budget and behind schedule ? look at the F-22, Rafale or F-35; the same criticism can be applied to many other modern aircraft programs. ;) "With specs comparable to what the russians already had in operation 15 years ago." Don't be silly, the F-15, F-16 and F-18 have specs comparable to the MiG-29 and Su-27, the Typhoon is in a different league altogether.
By: Oso1G. on 07 Jan 09, 16:05:18
Superior Space shuttle with 1970's technology easily outperforms this junkpile plane in exosphere performance.
By: ApopheniaIV. on 07 Jan 09, 15:50:41
Over-budgeted, over ten years behind schedule and with specs comparable to what the russians already had in operation 15 years ago. Expensive piece of junk.

Well, the jet looks nice enough. It's just a pity it came in well over budget and overdue as well. But now to the important bit, I must say that as much as I liked watching the video, what I really enjoyed was the music. Probably because it was different I suppose, but it seemed to go well with the video.

"The F-22's max. pitch rates (a key factor in "agility") are TWICE that of the F-16." At what speeds are we talking here?

Awesome Jet
