The situation with Bobby is not comparable to the one with Ralph. Tony had no actual grudge with Bobby. He had plenty of that with Ralph; he had already put a hit on him before cancelling it at the last minute. And yes, it is indeed about plausibility AS WELL AS reality. All drama is. And I'll say it again: we're talking about an attempt on someone's life, which does not have to be premeditated. If it's not premeditated, it can still be INTENTIONAL.

Wrong. This isnt about plausability. Its about reality. What actually happened. Your saying that about ralph but when Tony got his ass kicked by Bobby, he did let it go. Tony is just as much of a proven murderer. And Im talking about attempted murder not manslaughter or self defence. Like I said there would be certain guidelines to follow if you want the number 3 to be symbolic. Using such a general guideline wont get you anywhere cause it can be applied endlessly 2 the show.

Wrong. We're talking about an ATTEMPT ON ANOTHER PERSON'S LIFE, which does not have to be premeditated. An attempt is an attempt. As for the "evidence" of Ralph wanting Tony dead, technically you're right. There's no actual evidence, at least none that's damning. But like I said, we're not in court. This is about plausibility. A guy like Ralph, a proven murderer, and a proven INSUBORDINATE, is not going to just "forgive and forget." Not. Gonna. Happen.

And what evidence to you have to support he was going to actually kill him instead of just beating him badly and fleeing. You dont. There isn't one thing you can say to prove that because it would be a random guess. Tony's the boss of the family, where would that get Ralph. So not only are you guessing this doesnt count for an attempt on Tony's life because Ralph's intention isn't known even if he killed Tony instead.

First of all its Master Cheif. Self-defence and attempted murder are two different things completely. If you really dont believe that then good luck trying to convince a jury otherwise. It's kind of a hard argument to win and cases are built around turning attempted murder into self-defence because of the major differences involved.

At :54 Carmela sees Tony instantly...at 4:30Meadow had to seen her Family sitting in the same spot...the instant the bell rings when she walks in it gives 2 seconds of time for her to have seen a "killer" from almost any angle..why didnt her or anyone else in the Diner full of people scream!? You know she seen them sitting at the table..she was late and probably looking for them from the instant she could see through the glass of the front door. Just a thought..no one has ever brought it up...

The people that say it was a shit ending, in my opinion, didn't know anything about the series and the way David Chase wrote. The series is like REAL LIFE you won't get closure on every little thing that happens. who says Tony has to die? Maybe he is dead? Maybe he isn't. David wrote the show like it was real life...he brought us into tony's world for a couple years...then...he took us out of tony's world. Maybe tony's dead, maybe he's still alive. That's what makes it great!

Chief, It's an attempt of a different ilk. Richie was dead set on offing Tony, and he was not aware of Junior's decision. About Ralph, I UNDERSTAND that it was self-defense--so what? Do you honestly think he was just trying to "get Tony to stop?" Hell no. He was going to kill Tony if Tony didn't kill him first.

Ok that was a misunderstanding. The entire time I had Ritchie Jr in my mind for some reason. But i still wouldn't count that because although he wanted him dead that's as far as he got. No attempts were made whatsoever. He contemplated. Two different things completely. If he attempted, he would have been dead a lot sooner. He didn't plan anything either, he ran his thoughts by junior who dismissed it and later told tony about it. That's not an attempt.

Specifically about the 3 times a charm thing you'd be right about that. If tony had been killed here that would only make 2. The first being juniors hit. Only if this blew over and ANOTHER hit was called later on then that would make 3. If they were talking near death experiences then tony would be over 3.

Tony attacked ralph...tony was trying to kill him because of Pie-O-My. Ralph was acting in self defence...I just watched all 6seasons and never saw any indication of ritchie comtemplating to kill tony. I know he had a grudge but if he was what episode was it. I wanna take a look before i delete my downloads. About being horribly informed no opinion is really wrong about the ending. Thats how the director wanted it to end. He wanted everyone to make their own ending in their heads.
