the almay doesnt have fine bristles at the end, its hard at the end. so if that doesnt work for you, id suggest another brand :)

fluidlines are designed mainly as gel liners. Many uses them as base much like paintpot. as far as texture, paintpots dry to a powder finish, while fluidline have that satin sheen to it.

hey Tash - definitely check out their products. There might be some that you will like. The only product I MUST HAVE from benefit is SHELAQ - its a makeup sealer that makes pretty much anything longwearing, and non smudging. Check that out to start with.

fluidline can be tricky - i suggest you start with very little gel, just to place the line. Then add more to darken/deepen once you have a line to follow. Also, practice at the back of your hand every now and then, so that way you get used to the brush strokes.

HELLO.,I've been watching your fluidline tutorial i bought fluidline and i've tried to apply it but i always seem to mess it up i don't think i'm using the wrong kind of angle brush even though its not mac's. but i was hoping you could give me some tips even though i'm a girl. i'm asian if that helps. i either put too much on or just mess it up and get angry with it. haaahaa!! so if you could give me some MORE tips on how to apply it that would be great.

Even though I have slightly oily skin Fluidline doesn't crease or smudge once it is dry. It lasts and lasts! It might not last from morning to the club but certainly for the whole day at work. (Just as a side note as a video editor, I do agree about the UMS. It might be a good idea for you to write a general script or outline (especially when you name some of the colors because I've seen some of your other reviews and you tend to hesitate or blank out for a bit.

Hi. The mac artist told me the best thing to do is use the fluidline first, and then take a little liquidlast from its nasty brush with another, mini brush but a more stiff one and just go over the line. It fixes it perfectly, it'll stay there like forever. I can go kickboxing with it, and sweating and stuff... it stays. Love

Sorry it took so long to get back to this - but I wanted to say that I'm going to do a revisited video on this - my methods have improved TREMENDOUSLY and I now use a pointed eyeliner brush as opposed to an angle brush, which I find far superior - I hope you subscribe and watch for this video - I'm planning to do a series on eyeliner formulas!

You can! The lasting power depends on the quality of the formula which varies from color to color, believe it or not... I only have three colors, but I've found that Blacktrack and especially BluePeep have incredible staying power. Silverstroke, which is a much thinner, less viscous formula, is difficult to apply to the waterline and will not stay for very long. HTH!

I recently bought blacktrack too and have the same problem. Are you using a pointed brush? I bought one specifically to use for the fluidline that the lady helping me recommended, but I hated it and found it "skipped" on my eyelid too much. I dug out an older flat brush and I found it works better at both getting a smooth line and making the color more intense!

I don't have that same problem, I get really good coverage and color from my Blacktrack. It could be that you got a bad batch somehow, or maybe you just have a tendency not to get enough on your brush. If you're not happy with it, I'd take it back to MAC and get an exchange.

Have you had any trouble with your MAC fluidline? I just recently bought it and I can't say I'm impressed since I fully expected it to be more black (Like the Loreal HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in black), but I find that I hafta keep dipping my brush into the jar and reapplying it over and over again and I was just wondering if you have the same problem and know how to fix it. it's actually a lot easier. with a small angled brush you have a lot more control of the appearance of your liner and the thickness of it, etc. versus a regular liquid eye liner applicator. fluidline is really great for this, i use blacktrack...if you're looking for something cheaper, as MAC can be expensive, check out Loreal HiP cream eyeliner in the little pots.

Well it's a process... It's going to need to be bleached out, then have the color painted on... You need to choose a good brand - my stylist uses Goldwell, to prevent fading. After a month or two you will need to touch it up. I think it's so worth it. I love it :)

hey amanda.! luv ur vids i have the brown HIP l'oreal liner what i do is i just apply it to my lower lash line and it's pretty decent. no probs for me but then again i've nvr tried the MAC fluidline hopefully i'll get around to tryin it out ^^

I think its all in the packaging and production of the eyeliners. I might've had the same problem with the HIP creamliners. If you still have the receipt I would return the MAC blacktrack fluidline if you recently got it because it shouldn't be drying at all. Although eventually it will dry out! :)

Unless you are using the Fluidline pot professionally or several times a day you are not going to run out. I know this is gross but I have used the same pot of Fluidline for two years and it is still not done (I have a 1/3 left). I usually apply once for the day, and if I go out at night I wash my face and reapply. I have oily skin and I have issues with make-up creasing or running but I never had that problem with Fluidline. ^_^ Be well, Tessalina

I bought the loreal one and it's so dark and really stays put, which I love. I don't think I can use pencil liner anymore! lol Awesome review. You're completely right, I agree, the loreal one is much better if you want dark dark eyeliner that stays put for HOURS :) And I have that same eye makeup remover...best stuff I've ever used. Thanks for the tut!

I use the 244 (I believe that's the number). It's an angled liner brush, very small and thin... It's not too bad, pretty easy and the bristles of this brush are soft. And fluidline IS beautiful! I also use HIP cream eyeliner and they're pretty similar - I think anyway. What do you think? It MAC fluidline significantly better than HIP cream eyeliner? They are about the same price, maybe like less than a 5 dollar difference.
