I wouldn't put down the chances of having another season to 0 because of that; the franchise is still damn popular. Not less than a few weeks ago, the last Berserk Volume was the 2nd best seller manga in Japan. Beside, late night anime aren't as unwatched as you think, at least in Japan. I wouldn't mind if they cut a bit of gore too. I'm not watching a show because of the amount of blood there is. Anyway, at this rate, nobody can tell if we're going to have or not, another season.

the show is too violent for prime time TV. it didn't make a lot of money in japan because the amount of violence caused it to be aired late at night and not many people watched it. i read the manga and season 2 is gonna be even worse than season 1 with the violence. a lot of the disturbing scenes didn't make it into the anime in season 1. plus they didnt even show the skull knight. which is crucial for season 2. the show did good with dvd sales and the writer is still making more mangas.

willbaboon, how can you compare SOF units when you don't even know your ass from your elbow about each individual unit. Special Forces in the UK refers to SAS/SBS/SRR/SFSG/14 Int. Special Forces in the US military means quite literally the US Army Special Forces (Green Berets, though they don't like that name). They are a completely different unit from the SAS with a very different purpose.

vonthrud the SEALS were not called the SEALS in WW2 they were simply called "frogmen". Their job was to scout the beachhead before the Normandy invasion and clear tank traps and mines wherever they could. It was only after WW2 that the SEALS were officially given their title. Why all this damn arguement about whose special forces is better than whose? Each SF has a unique legacy: SAS has its roots in WW2 as a descendant of the OSS and the German GSG9 was formed after the kidnapping of Israeli Olympic team in the 70's. Delta was first used in the 1980 Iranian hostage rescue attempt. The marines and SEALS have been involved in every conflict since WW2.

The American special forces also focused more on capturing than killing their enemies whenever possible. The higher kill count for the British could be due to a heavier reliance on the special forces due to a smaller number of regular troops. And as you say the SAS is more specialized. American special forces could include, depending on how you define it, the SEALS, green berets, Rangers, Marine force recon, etc.
