Not really, the posted limit is 100 kmh, but it's an unwritten rule that OPP generally leaves you alone up to 120 kmh.

She said the speeds in metric units??? She forgot to mention that accelerating smoothly and using cruise control also has an impact on how much you consume.
By: brankaft. on 15 Dec 08, 17:51:13
yes...in avenue :) 80 mph

120km/h? are you legally allowed to drive at 74mph in canada? O_O
By: Stevenhiggles. on 01 Dec 08, 21:44:09
(measurement system) it may cost billions of dollars but there's also all the text books, and peoples minds that you can't change... sucks :/
By: Stevenhiggles. on 01 Dec 08, 21:40:33
actually theres a car out there that runs purely on electricity and can go 0-60 in under 3 seconds. But its way to damn expensive.

Ways to save fuel Use a bike for town journeys High pressure tyres Coast to lights Don't overwork the engine on hills If in a long traffic jam on a slight down slope, turn off the engine Slow down/have a streamlined car to reduce wind resistance I'm sure there's others

In UK petrol is measured in litres, but speeds in miles per hour - we have a real mix. Also a UK Gallon is 4.54 litres and a US gallon is only 3.78, so I guess our cars get more miles per gallon lol
By: drummingpariah. on 25 Nov 08, 09:33:29
CommieKid didn't mention electric motors at all. The correct answer is: "We need to unite as a country. The US really hasn't done that since World War II, so I suppose the only way that will happen would be for WW3 to begin."
By: sk389. on 17 Nov 08, 22:37:06
fuck you electric motors will never win against a gas engine and plus we would have to recharge our lawn mowers every half hour and that can take up to 15 hours!!!
By: CommieKid. on 13 Nov 08, 03:11:52
how about we unite as a country and stop using gas to power our vehicles
By: gamesbok. on 10 Nov 08, 18:36:44
She's Canadian, as the PetroCanada tanker might suggest. She could probably have done the entire presentation in French too.
By: gobberpooper. on 08 Nov 08, 03:29:18
yes i know! i live in the friggin country! and no, it's not to be different! i said that the british used it and since america was a british colony, we used the british system of pounds and miles. but then britain used the metric system. by this point it's too expensive to change
By: ramoj02. on 08 Nov 08, 03:27:10
liters and kilometers are part of metric system. Only america uses gallons and mile for units.
By: gobberpooper. on 01 Nov 08, 18:05:37
yeah i absolutely hate our system. I can never get the conversions together. The problem was that when the US was founded, we used the British system because that's what we were used to. But then Britain changed their system to SI. So now we're using the British system which sucks ass. And now we can't change it because changing every label and especially road signs would costs billions and billions of dollars.
By: Kurac80. on 01 Nov 08, 15:12:07
Yes, some people, smart ones, realize that measuring units such as liters, meters and centimeters are most common and very popular all over the world. Feet, yards and miles and pounds...give me a break...what you just want to be different
By: SobaniForce. on 01 Nov 08, 07:41:06
When prices rise, they jump.
By: gobberpooper. on 30 Oct 08, 02:01:06

" Gas prices go down more than it goes up." Can anyone else tell me what's wrong with what she said? She was making all sorts of good points but when she said that I about fell over. lol
