The problem is how to achieve a CONTROLED release of energy in that nuclear fusion researches.
By: r8wing. on 06 Jan 09, 10:51:01
In hydrogen bombs a fission device is used to ignite the fusion reaction. Why this approach can't be used in civilian energy applications? The proposed gaseous fission using uranium hexafluoride could provide the short-term solution for lighting up hydrogen fusion, the only thing that could quench our ever-growing energy thirst.

No people are dumb b/c by using oil they will only make the environment worse. lol
By: EEPR. on 05 Jan 09, 03:36:03
people are dumb we are nowhere near running out of oil... we have enough to last the whole world over 100 years

if nuclear fusion would be succesful(in which i guess it would in 10 to 15) the world would have a greater future they could also aply it in military purposes(not fusion bomb) by miniturizing the nuclear reactor to power exo-suits for example . Or mybe to pwer ion cannons or plasma cannons.

How are they going to bring the the heat of the sun to earth? i thought everything on earth wouldnt be able to stand the heat of the sun so i dont get that. Whats plasma physics? iv just heard of it... Its all new to me. Ohh and yes thatt to..how do they extract the energy from the reaction to power everything? its all very interesting =)

8 gallons of water can yield 1 gram of deuterium, which if used in fusion generates energy equivalent to 9,500 litres of petrol. Each D+T reaction produces 17.58 MeV of energy.
By: iossefarnav. on 03 Jan 09, 17:46:59
you mean what? how do they extract energy from the reaction to power houses and stuff?
By: ghettobiatchh. on 01 Jan 09, 19:26:10
Im only a kid in the uk learning about fusion at a GCSE level,i am finding this incredibly interesting concidering that i have been taught that there has been no scientificaly backed up idea hat would be able to supply energy for everyone for the future generations instead of using fosil fuels which wil run out.i can only understand half of how they are going to make this work. Can someone explain in simpler terms... i hope this wor...im scared

i swear not to read comments from now on. (^~^)
By: NFRPG. on 25 Dec 08, 06:29:16
What did you mean by no natural materials could stand 100,000F without liquifying, did I say the materials where meant to be a plasma? and BTW if there is and 8% growth in uranium demand, our reserves will run out of uranium in around 10 years! And why do you say i don't understand radiation, I can say you don't understand what the word nuclear means, but i don't have any proof, so i don't say it Please stop making comments out of false facts without any proof jumbled with random cussing.
By: NFRPG. on 25 Dec 08, 06:21:50
First, I did not say anything about your post, I just asked for confirmation, which you have failed to provide. Second, I never said anything about powering our cars with Nuclear Fusion Reactors (Which is impossible if not many decades away.) Third, I do not own, or have played Fallout 3. Fourth, I still don't understand what you meant in your original post.
By: leslieTS. on 24 Dec 08, 21:21:45
Dude quit putting words in my mouth fag, because obviously I never said that fusion reactions can only occur with solids only, nor did I say plasma emits radiation. You really need to finish high school kid, cause your reading skills are in dire need of improvement.
By: leslieTS. on 24 Dec 08, 21:13:34
a nonprofit "organization" (your little blogspot) that's been started up by a little 18 year old kid who doesn't know squat about nuclear fusion and is still baffled by NOT reading my previous post and still cant understand what i said, then yeah ill be happy to pwn you any day. Really? is that so? gee I guess we'll power our cars with nuclear reactors, or better yet how about a nuclear reactor in planes, hmmm kid you seriously gotta get your head out of fallout 3.
By: NFRPG. on 24 Dec 08, 04:04:54
well if you have fun "pwning" a nonprofit organization who's sole purpose is to better our lives as human beings by promoting the reality that Nuclear Fusion Power is the ONLY Feasible alternative to Coal, Natural gas, and oil. then have fun with that. btw, i really don't understand your logic, so plasmas don't emit radiation, or particles need to be solid to emit radiation or you believe that a Fusion reaction can only occur with solids, can you please explain what you meant.
By: leslieTS. on 24 Dec 08, 01:53:11
None the less your fagotry of misunderstanding the reality of radiation lead to me pwning your stupid ass. (hence why you responded in the first place and you got owned)
By: NFRPG. on 23 Dec 08, 23:50:38
if you had read my post properly you would have understood that the fuel INSIDE the reactor is plasma, not the reactor itself. be more realistic.
By: leslieTS. on 23 Dec 08, 18:55:13
Dude really? plasma? OMG no way! gee fag, did it ever occur to you that a reactor requires a solidified structure to work? mmmmm nope, because you stuck your stupidity in places it doesn't belong, and you got burned, later fag. ^_^
By: NFRPG. on 23 Dec 08, 05:14:58
dude, there is enough Deuterium on our planet to support Deuterium-Deuterium reactions (which produce more energy) at our current rate of consumption for 150 billion years, thats 30x longer than the remaining life of the sun! if your interested in this stuff and want to help support NUclear Fusion research, join NF-RPG, the NUclear Fusion Research Promotion Group
By: NFRPG. on 23 Dec 08, 05:12:24
Dude, pay attention in class more. What difference does it makes if it's liquid or not. And BTW it turns into a plasma in there.
By: marsCubed. on 22 Dec 08, 23:46:01
hehe, you make a completely unsubstantiated and ridiculous statement about something which you cannot possibly know, then you ask us to use our common sense. Can you see where the logic in your construct fails? Best sticking to verifiable evidence or to mark out polemics more clearly, so as to make your reasoning available.
