i have one of these for my ps3 and its not that hard to get it sideways without a e-brake you just have to get used to it. If your going at speed just turn hard into the corner, dip the clutch shift into second (usually for me) then at the same time put opposite lock on your steering wheel floor the throttle to get it sliding then when your leaving the corner and car gains traction again just put your steering right and shift up again. Sounds complicated but its not really when your used to it.

You have a G25, but almost everyone who play this game uses a playstation joystick, and it's not difficult to them...so, if it's like real, it shouldn't be difficult on real either. No it only works on PC, PS2, and PS3. The G25 has no XBOX 360 support. Why? It's Microsoft fault, because there is an official Microsoft wheel for the 360 and Microsoft want to sell it. Maybe in the future but i think Microsoft doesent really care about it. So at the moment it only works on PC, PS2, and PS3.

G25 is a steering wheel that is well recommended if you go for a product that's gonna keep the same quality in many years. G25 is boosted with Metal and real handsticks leather. I can really really recommend this product. As you already might know Logitech makes good quality and not some cheap plastic toy that will break the very next day. You can google this wheel and find reviews. I have not found anyone who says this wheel sucks.

The shifter on the right (the one he's using) looks to be a Lightning SST by Sim-Gear which you can get from their website. The shifter on the left is the one which comes with the G25, I don't think it can be bought separately.

Can I buy the shifter seperate and use it with my momo wheel. I know it doesnt have a slot to plug it the back of the wheel but does the shifter plug into the computer with usb. Same with the pedals

No i haven't played the game for 2 months now. It's a friend of mine who has the game :p But i was really disapointed for the price. I though all the game game physics would be great and all we had to wait is new tracks and cars. But as i see the physics engine is not complete and i doubt there will be big changes since the next release. What i like is doing car setups... no more comments or i'll cry :p ok anyway we'll see the next release.

There is a clutch in GT5P and it is only a preview of full game so of corse its not perfect. Did you play the updated version? Tyre physics has changed, So now Street tires do feel like street tires, and slicks do feel like slicks.

It doesn't even manage the clutch... for a so called simulation i have to say it's a shame. It doens't manage the bumps of the track. It's like driving on ice... There's no great management of tyres wich is one of the basis for all great simulations. There are a lot of things that makes this game an arcade game... It's not against you but most of the GT5 fans should open their eyes and realize GT is not a simulation.

It sits on your lap with an outrigger gearshift - there is no way that that will give you the same force feedback as the G25 which can be BOLTED to a simulator. the fanatec looks good, but id prefer the G25... the G25 doesn't have a lot of buttons on the wheel which to me is a good thing, it makes it look more realistic, plus the shifter of the G25 looks more realistic than the fanatec, even if it has less resistance...the wires are not that much of a problem to me, the pedals on the G25 also look more realistic, the clutch has good resistance and doesn't need anymore...etc. but thats just my opinion...great review btw.

Nice little review! Lots of effort put in there. From personal experience, G25 feels better in the "real" games (like GTR series and rFactor). The G25 has 2 motors which these games put into real use. Maybe there are tweaks for those games u were testing that would help maximise the output of the G25's features? NFS, Dirt and GT5 are very arcadish to use anything more than a keyboard/gamepad.

hm it should work..im not quite sure why it wouldnt. Did you check the lights on the porsch usb stick? it should be on instead of flashing. It should be pretty straight forward, try plugging it in before you start the game n letting it calibrate, then check the red and white light n start the game

It really doesnt seem like a big issue to me, I dont really notice wobbling when im playing. I'd have to say that I like the 911 pedals better, they have more space and allow better heel toe action for me. Also the shifter on the g25 is a bit too weak, I suppose it'd be better with some modification. Oh and they developed new mounting attachments for people like you who have a problem with it.

How can you ignore the fact that the entire wheel is wobbling all over the place when you use the H-shifter? The mounting of it blows. The two metal rods aren't able to keep it firm at all. You can even see it in your video. The strength of the 911 Turbo Wheel is the Force Feedback, which feels awesome. The shifter and pedals are, however, far better on G25. Yes, I have both too.

Is it true that, with the Logitech G25, there is a time lag between the gameplay action and the force feedback response? I'm asking because I'm thinking about getting one, but I read a review in which the guy had said just that. It may have been because of driver isssues, but I just thought I'd check. Thank's!

Modern WRC cars use dual-clutch transmissions, they only use the clutch for starting the car, they never use it for anything else, whether it's upshits or downshifts, if you can find a picture of the pedals of a modern Group A rally car you'll see that the clutch is just a thin little pedal because it's almost never used.

Are you a moron? Most race cars use a dogbox, which means you don't need to double clutch or clutch at all when upshifting, just to down shift. And even then, you may not need to clutch for a downshift if you properly revmatch.

I made a mistake in my last comment. The ignition cut is there to prevent overrevving the engine, not in order to shift without using the clutch. I think the real reason is that the gears are straight cut and slide into eachother very easily, that´s why you hear the whining noise. (search for BMW M3 GTR)

No, I´m not high, but thanks for asking. I do know that you need a clutch when shifting. However, some racecars don´t use the clutch at all or only when shifting down. For instance the BMW M3 GTR race car, which does not require to press the clutch pedal when shifting up, because there is an electronic ignition cut during the gearchange. And because this is GTR 2, I assume that he´s driving a race car which does not require to use the cluch during gearchanges.

Are you high? Donj't use the clutch when shifting? Now, it is possible, with a road going transmission, one that has synchromesh, to shift clutchlessly, I do it in my Infiniti if I'm just cruising, but in most racing gearboxes, real ones, not paddle shifters, it is generally a necessity to double clutch the transmission as those gearboxes lack the synchros of a passenger car. Google double-clutch some time, I'm sure there's a video of it.

I agree that he uses too much steering angle for this game. As far as I know, in real life the drivers don´t use the clutch when shifting, only when driving away from a standing stop. But of course, you have to remember that these gearboxes are not the same as found in road vehicles.
