When you travel, regardless of the color of your skin, the way you're received by the "locals" depends a lot on your own attitude. I'm white, and I was in the Peace Corps in West Africa and traveled to eight countries in the region. Often people regarded me suspiciously or with dirty looks, but I made sure to greet them with a "Hello" (or "Bon jour monsieur") and often a handshake, and most people warmed up to me.

When African Americans go to Ghana, they should do their best by explaining things to the local people cuz some of these local people dont know the differences. Sometimes local people think Obronior/Yevu(White and Ameyibor(Black) are the same.

Africans aren't lazy. Its a shame some of you posted silly comments about this video without knowing the history. Im an African living in the States. This past summer, I volunteered to repair houses for black families in Philly. It was really disturbing the way the people that I consider brothers and sisters looked at me. They didnt see me as one of them at all. I thought the situation will change when I start school,but it hasn't. Some times African Amricans won't allow me to sit by them.

Hello, I am a african american. I recently traveled to ghana and was there for 3 months. But you are right. About some fo the attitudes of my people. But please to do a google search on willie lynch " how to create a slave " and it will explain alot about my people. We must unite. Not just African americans and Africans. But all black people. When i was there i taught alot about the culture of African Americans. About the struggle for our freedom and taught me alot about African culture.

i am a african american. I was in ghana for 3 months. I lived with ghanaians while i was there. It is a wonderful place. I was called obroni but after explaining to the brothers and sisters who we are as black americans are, they accepted me as there brother. I will return. Because yes although people there may see you as a pay check. I feel that it is better to help a brother or sister in africa then to make the west richer then at already is.
