And yet here you are spending your time on me. I guess I should do some research mr "MILLIONS OF CIVILIANS." I determine them to be unlawful combatants because they DONT PLAY BY THE RULES OF WAR. THEY ignore the Geneva convention, therefore why should they have protection under it? If those countries don't have official armies that just prooves me right: they are not captured enemy soldiers, they are not people fighting a war against armies. They are fighting a war against innocent people.

Throughout history throughout history eh? Really? MILLIONS of civilians? Show me the numbers there sport. No, it would not, because something that tends to happen whenever ANYBODY fights ANY war ANYWHERE, is that civilians die. The difference is the US does not actively target civilians in order to cause terror. If you were right, then every country in history could be considered terrorist. Simply suspects? We aren't legally obligated to. Anyway, why should we give them to terrorists? Oh really? A LOT of people? Why do you think the government would waste time, money, and its reputation on people who aren't terrorists. For that matter, for MOSTLY non terrorists. They aren't equivalent to POW's because the are Unlawful Combatants. They aren't soldiers, they don't belong to any country's military. They are TERRORISTS. Neither apply to them because they TARGET CIVILAINS and aren't US citizens.

Americans having the brutal minds? I'd say among other peoples, Americans have the most libertarian minds of them all. But I'm sure many fail to see why they should be required to give Habeas Corpus to those who aren't citizens, and therefore are not covered under the Constitution. The terrorists are unlawful combatants who target civilian. I do agree with you though that our torture directly causes the torture of Americans that are captured by terrorists.
