i'm not sure if you got your answer to the glitchy sprites yet, but i think i know what's causing them this is something i noticed using lunar magic for mario world, so i figured the problem could be similar the sprite set for that level isn't the set that supports that particular object (enemy in this case)

I know this is a blind run, but I'll share some helpful advice based on how I play. 1) Savestate in a "sweet spot." It's like a position where you're relatively safe. Case in point: Savestate while standing on the platform at 6:39 as opposed to savestating between 6:40-6:41. :P 2) Sweet spotting near a power-up: If you find a power-up and there are enemies guarding it, like the one you found at 8:42, try to get rid of the *enemies* first. This way, the power-up won't go to waste or get away.

Wow! You uploaded part 2 already, that was fast. That grass in level 1-2 was a bit challenging but wait until you arrive at the first castle and the first Boom Boom fight which is a real pain in the arse, it's definitely challenging and took quite a few attempts for me to defeat.

I somehow got out of the elevator place. I had first glitched Francis when the elevator was close to the floor. Once the elevator's gone, the "entrance" will suck you in and prohibit you to leave.
