Doesn't matter, they owe us big time for betraying us and having trading surpluses in foreign affairs. Ever since the old republic of China fell, they have not been very good friends with us.

We all do everything ourselves, right down to the food we eat. As said in China, one must have patience to fulfill their needs. The Chinese say that 'cause they know that government enforces law, it does not act like our mommy and daddy.

China's GDP (nominal) 2007 estimate - Total $3,280 trillion - Per capita $2,483 Per capita means "per person" in Latin. This means that on average, each Chinese person makes $2,483 A YEAR! Now, if YOU don't think that is poor, then you are big fool!

adog262 How much are we in debt to China?
By: atripa645. on 02 Dec 08, 03:25:13
You are so dumb. China is poor? lol you should go back to burger king dude. China is capitalist/communist. It two sides of the same coin.

You show your young age and ignorance. Government protections are are all around you. Regulations of the foods you eat right down to the internet service you get. Without government regulation corporations would starve you for profit and then sell your body to China. Do you really think your doing everything on your own? Educate yourself a little.

What god? You sillyhead! XD
By: adog262. on 02 Dec 08, 03:20:35
Okay, Japan and South Korea. They are capitalist with no government intervention in the market. They are rich and have tons and tons of money. China and Russia? They are communist, therefore they are poor.

Examples of success: Microsoft, Yahoo, McDonalds, FedEx, Nintendo, Sony, Phillips, Samsung, Virizon Wireless, Burger King, Wendys, Taco Bell, Dennys, Sprint Wireless, AT&T, America Online... This list keeps going. Wealth makes wealth and demand from wealth makes jobs. I do know what you mean though. Conservatives can get too stingy to the point where all government is evil, which is not true at all. Although the free market is best, government plays a role in maintaining balance.
By: adog262. on 02 Dec 08, 03:13:20
I'll answer that for ya, lolz! XD What he means is that while government does have an impact on our lives, it can't take care of us like children. For instance, does government get food for you or does a fishing rod get food for you? As you can see, it is really up to all of us to take care of ourselves.

why is it stupid? have you read her book?

One of the biggest problems with the anti-government "free market" people is that there theories have no basis in reality. They have been proven failures. Yet that doesn't seem to matter to them. Anther problem is that the same people who spout the "free market" mantra can't give one example of it working for the middle class which is the basis of a democracy. It also doesn't help their cause that so many of them are crooks.lol

Why do liberals love government? I would think Ms. Klein would express her contempt for government considering the amount of corruption and abuses. Libertarians are progressives too. We want to see the same amount of social justice as our liberal friends, but we know better: economic advancement is achieved through the power of individual initiative and the reduction of government intervention. Whether the evil is big government or big business, only a wise society can remain free.

I've always believed Bush's Iraq invasion was a mistake at best. Yes fear (not shock) was used to motivate people to support the war. But to "capitalize" on your 15minutes of fame by implying Milton's economic or Paulson's financial remedy views use the same "shock or fear" is stupid. Have you even had an economics class?
By: adog262. on 30 Nov 08, 23:53:12
An American invasion indeed, and I don't like any of it. The companies do make jobs, but with the world's economy in trouble now, I think it could be a while before I get a job myself. XD

Most of Asia is undeveloped really. China, North Korea, Vietnam, Laos, India, Pakastan, Russia, and Bangaladesh are pretty poor countries. Not only that did you notice that at least half of them are communist/socialist? In Europe, communism collapsed because the government agencies ran out of tax money. In Romania, the people had to rise up against their government to rid communism.

Of course, mexico is not a colony per-se. but they have joined NAFTA and their economic sovereignty is tied more than ever to the US. Anyway, this is off-topic to my original comment: why compare the US to Mexico? Why not compare it with other developed nations in Europe or Asia?
By: kewlkewl12. on 30 Nov 08, 22:12:49
Haha.. there is a big difference: Japan and Germany were and are stable nation-state with a defined sense of nationality. Iraq never had that and now they are in a serious civil war. How long would that last?
By: aletzisangulo. on 30 Nov 08, 21:09:10
Basically they move to Mexico because they can afford paying mexican salaries. specially Call Centers. People from Mexico whose native language is not English are attending HSBC mortgage accounts, AT&T internet connections, technical support, etc. But we have to thank our president that supports this idea since he thinks It provides more jobs!! but the employees are normally students that need a part-time job, something that this kind of companies does not offer!!
By: adog262. on 30 Nov 08, 20:01:27
Yeah, there is a problem with American corporations moving to Mexico as well as other foreign countries. My dad is still mad that a Hershey's Chocolate corporation moved from Yosemite, California (of the United States) to Mexico. XD
By: aletzisangulo. on 30 Nov 08, 17:03:37
WHAT??? Mexico has never been a colony of USA officially. However It is quite intersting If you ever come down to Mexico you will see that our Mexican Freedome monument is sorrounded by american corporations and it is even smaller than all those buildings. not to mention the plan Mérida and cultural imperialism that has been spreaded with media!!
