if this sniper was that good the canadian sniper core would be using it considering we have some of the best snipers in the world and hold the record for longest kill at 2435 meters or something close to that.

However when a bullet exits, all the air that has been sucked into the wound "explodes" outward. Exit wounds are much more devastating than entry wounds. I have explained it to you the most elementary way I can. This is simple knowledge and one of the first things taught in the military which is something you clearly have no experience with. Please stop trying to make yourself sound correct. You know nothing about guns. I doubt you've even shot one before.

Go back to 3rd grade and remember the laws of nature. When lightening strikes the ground, all the air it burns up has to be replaced. Thunder is the sound of the moving air molecules spreading out to take the place of the burned air. The same principles go for a gun. A bullet "cuts" through the air much like lightening burns it. When it hits something, all the air is sucked into the wound. That is why an entry wound is so small. It is essentially "inhaling" all the force.

First it's stupid. Second that is just a myth that has been disproven. Google ".50 BMG myths", a near miss won't do anything.

By: etveita. on 02 Dec 08, 10:26:59
If you want a proper linse the M107 would set you back about $50 000,-
By: Toolofdeath. on 02 Dec 08, 07:21:29
First off Mass =/= volume. If you paid attention in 5th grade you would know this. Exactly, this round is meant to PENITRATE. Unless you hit bone, or you're using expanding rounds all you're going to achive is an "ice pick" wound. No huge exit wound, no ripping of the limbs.

you're also fucking stupid.
By: tfmtjt. on 02 Dec 08, 02:26:38
anybody who thinks a bullet this size will only make a hole the size of the bullet is an idiot the exit wound of this gun would be about 6-9inches i no that and im 11
By: nano404. on 02 Dec 08, 02:20:34
Heh, only about two pistols use this, one was a scrapped prototype and the other no longer made. The Desert Eagle, S&W 500 etc use a much smaller (couple inches shorter, and more narrow) round, if either of those were what you was thinking about. Crazy people :D
By: ocdoman. on 02 Dec 08, 02:05:36
lol yeah no that would never work
By: liverbait. on 02 Dec 08, 01:17:26
woah, can't believe a bullet that big is used in a pistol
By: chad416. on 01 Dec 08, 23:19:55
wonder if they come fully auto?
By: Lizzardandfish. on 01 Dec 08, 21:38:19
And your stupidity is disrespecting our soldiers. It's pathetic that people like you know nothing about the conditions they face every day.
By: Lizzardandfish. on 01 Dec 08, 21:36:24
If you paid attention to this video, you would know that the bullet can travel a mile in under 2 seconds. If you weren't stupid, you would know that the sheer size of that bullet plus its speed creates an enormous amount of force that can penetrate all but the toughest materials. Hence its purpose "Anti-material". Flesh and bone is nothing for .50 cal bullets.
By: Lizzardandfish. on 01 Dec 08, 21:36:02
I never said this thing could cut a man in half. I said this thing could shoot a limb off. You are the one thinks a 1/2 inch hole will be all the damage a person gets from one of these things.
By: scatman514. on 01 Dec 08, 19:58:47
a big boooom and all will be shiting there pants
By: Nnatere. on 01 Dec 08, 19:12:24
The 308 is NOT the standard round for an AK-47. 7.62 x 39 is. Discovery Channel is such morons.
By: goddesslush. on 01 Dec 08, 17:20:08
Now if they could only silence that with a sound moderator it be even more amazing. I can see it giving away the shooter.
By: jeffire13. on 01 Dec 08, 05:55:58
Very impressive.

OMG COOLEST SNIPER EVER CREATED
By: Toolofdeath. on 01 Dec 08, 03:59:17
I'm still trying to figure out how that post was belittling to any contrys service (wo)men? Rip it off? Depends on where it was hit and the range. At the sholder at 25 yards yeah. In the forarm at 800 yards, the forarm is shreaded but the whole limb is likely still there. Won't rip someone in half either.... Saying otherwise is a dissrespect to reality.
By: Lizzardandfish. on 01 Dec 08, 03:00:16
The U.S. is not the only country with 50. cal rifles and machine guns. Lots of other major countries and organizations use them. Please tell me how this thing would NOT rip a arm off. Watch some slow motion videos of bullets hitting something and notice how much damage is done on the exit point. Research how 50 cal. rounds can easily penetrate type IV body armor. Just stop posting shit on topics you know nothing about.
By: Toolofdeath. on 01 Dec 08, 02:36:58
See, my point you're exaggerating and fabricating this time. Never said our service (wo)men weren't in danger at any point. I just said a .50 round is not going to rip someone in half... unless the armed forces makes a habit of shooting their own people I don't see how that is disrespectful or belittling the dangers of the conditions they serve under...
