Someone brought up CBGB's...they both came out of CBGB's...it was actually relevant. Both bands are great. Long live Milli Vanilli.

I just love that sound. The bass sound especially
By: squirehorse. on 15 Nov 08, 19:15:21
why would you say they are more talented??? why would you bring talking heads into this when they have no relevance whatsoever to this record. its comments like that which piss me off. enjoy this work of art for what it is.

So haunting. Chills me to the bone everytime and makes me cry in the melancholy minimalism of the instrumental repetition. It makes me dwell in the lonliness of my life.

one of my favorite band's guitarist listed television as one of hhis influences, so i decidecd to check them out. this was the first song by them ive heard, and since ive been really into early punk. i love this song!

Wow, 10 minutes of beautiful, luxurious overkill. One of the few bands that can and do pull it off.

Eum I do understand the acclaim for this album. It's good. But it would have been better if it was instrumental. There's good melodious riffs and breaks but the graveyard voice fucs it up for me. He looks like a junkie too.

Probably one of the albums I would take with me to a desert island....

They are VERY different. I'd just say that Talking Heads were more talented. Well...David Byrne anyways. That man is a genius beyond his years.
By: colossalkegan. on 20 Oct 08, 03:32:01
They're very different bands, and both great in their own way. Talking Heads had their frantic funk-garage rock, and Television had their tight, eccentric jazz-rock. Comparing Tom Verlaine's choppy improvised solos to Jerry Harrison's erratic keyboard fills or Fred Smith's basslines to Tina Weymouth's doesn't make a lot of sense, because both bands have their moments. I can't recall a Television song that reminds me of 'No Compassion' or a Talking Heads song that reminds me of 'Prove It.'

Marquee Moon is INCREDIBLE.
By: wouldntyouliketoknow. on 19 Oct 08, 05:46:52
Hmmm...I'd give the title of most talented band to come out of CBGB's to Talking Heads. But Television whups a llama's ass though.

actually its for people who like to listen to good music so they can listen to good music

By: lladsbid. on 14 Oct 08, 19:00:05
no, interpol are. theyre a band and bands are referred to as being many, e.g. the rolling stones are awesome, or television are brilliant
By: lladsbid. on 14 Oct 08, 18:57:48
its awesome but does suffer somewhat from art rock syndrome whereby every song is stretched out too far, if it was half the length it would be a true classic to rival anything by the stones or beatles, as is, however, its just really good
