I remember this excercise from gym class growing up. One of our teachers gave us a test where we had to hold the plank and the wall sit for 20 minutes. About 90% of the class failed. Good old gym class.

tastethepain I suggest you visit a doctor and get it checked out. In the mean time lay off the ab exercises for a while. Perhaps you have overworked the muscles and they need a little downtime. You can always come back and continue again later on. You would'nt want all that hard work to go to waste right?

I've been holding plank every day for a couple of months. I started at 30 seconds a session, building the time up, I'm now at 5 minutes. Only recently my left pec and the back of my left bicep have begun to hurt, especially when I breathe in. Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening or how I could fix it? I don't want to stop with the routine because I know I'll probably never start again if I do. Thanks in advanced.
