I kind of feel uneasy with this joke. I love Ricky Gervais, and think he has great tallent, and I know comedians should have a lot of freedom to express different ideas, but it just seems a bit weird getting a laugh about the holocaust in this context.

Nietzche predates existentialism by a few decades.

same fucking thing mate, and its not "hippy bullshit" just because i dont let things bother me, it doesnt make me a hippy does it? just shut up you boring old twat
By: Gaydolf. on 17 Nov 08, 23:42:27
I refuse to look beyond the first page as the political conversations seem, to me, absolutely bereft of intellectual credibility. Nietzsche was more concerned with the existential movement than this hippie bullshit you are talking about.

...worry about yourself, and what is going on in your personal life. Start enjoying the day to day on goings that happen in your life, instead of having pointless arguments on a video of a stand up comedian! Yeah I know taxes and that can influence people's lives, but if we spent our whole lives worrying about how well this country is run, theres no time to enjoy the simple pleasures of life? Seeing your girlfriend smile, having a nice cup of tea, or getting into a nice warm bed :)
By: jcorney26. on 14 Nov 08, 00:05:16
FOR FUCKS SAKE, WHY ARE PEOPLE HAVING BORING CRAPPY ARGUMENTS ABOUT POLITICS? YOU ALL SOUND SO POSH AND STUCK UP! ON OTHER VIDEOS TOO, PEOPLE HAVE THESE ARGUMENTS AND THEY SOUND SO SILLY, "Ah yes, but do you have any evidence to back your theory that this world would be run better without a conservative in charge?" Honestly, who cares about how much tax you have to pay, if this country goes to war with Iraq, or whatever...

don't be a cynic - revolution's going to work! it has to happen! we'll realise we're not driven by greed and consumerism - they're merely distracting us from our unity with each other and how we are essentially all part of the same divine spark. we just all need to get behind it = ) xx
By: ValhallaAwaitsU. on 13 Nov 08, 18:10:54
yeah for like a month, listen im a big fan of marx and have read the manifesto many times and even consider myself a socialist. It looks perfect on paper but when people actually have to practice it, that is another story. Its in our nature to be somewhat greedy, especially if your successful. It drives our economy.
By: hippie00chick. on 12 Nov 08, 18:52:39
but with revolution and a global epiphany, human greed would be outweighed by love and equality.
By: ValhallaAwaitsU. on 12 Nov 08, 18:48:43
because it doesnt account for human greed.
By: Gilbavel. on 12 Nov 08, 05:41:08
Hey, guys! It's a comedy bit! Get over it!
By: jmonroe64. on 11 Nov 08, 13:30:12
Ricky Gervais -- neither funny nor insightful.
By: hippie00chick. on 10 Nov 08, 16:27:30
why would you say in theory only?
By: ethioKid3000. on 10 Nov 08, 01:53:45
i would say in theory only.
By: hippie00chick. on 08 Nov 08, 09:57:40
also - why you define advanced as going to space and having loads of computers, surely advanced is having complete equality and harmony? since america has so many racists, abject poverty and a stupidly bellicose leader - surely they're quite far behind?
By: hippie00chick. on 08 Nov 08, 09:50:59
regardless of whether blair was a yes man, which i agree he was, george bush would've gone to war in iraq - he had a lot of the public on his side too.
By: hippie00chick. on 08 Nov 08, 09:47:27
i would say everybody chipping in would be communism...without corruption.

There is one important technological advancement caused by NASA, apparently they contributed towards the new Memory Foam beds. See it's a service these blokes give you know! lol
By: Carfer22. on 07 Nov 08, 21:09:38
No, in all seriousness Im well aware of the Americas contribution but is it really necessary to shout every achievement from the rooftops? Its quite vulgar! That was all I was saying!
By: Carfer22. on 07 Nov 08, 20:59:13
So you know better is what you're saying!! I also love that you're instinctive reaction was condescension. Listen Im well aware of the U.S.s technological achievements! My problem was more to do with this quasi autistic disposition you seem to have with regards to patriotism. Oh, and like you I am also awaiting the report which bases technological advancement solely upon space exploration. I am sure you are having orgasms at the mere possibility of such an event.
