You're not all nuts. Most of you are just deluded. People tend to believe in the teachings with which they're indoctrinated as children. That's human nature. Some break free later in life, while others never learn to question what they were taught. Just like racism, sexism, and bigotry of all kinds tend to be passed on from parent to child, so to is the virus of religion transmitted from one generation to another. That's why all of these human failings will be with us for a long time.

I like Bill but I always find it interesting when Atheist say that Christians act superior to Atheist. It seems quite the other way around. Atheist act as if they are in on the joke and we are all nuts. Maybe the facts are that to the everyday Christian who isn't preaching, we find strength in our faith, if you don't, that's your problem. I won't preach to people because it's YOUR journey, not mine. i'm not closed to the idea tat there is a god. but if there is a god he definitely wouldn't call himself a christian, a jew, a muslim, a hindu, or whatever... i'd like to think that a god is more intelligent than that. the problem with religion is that it's run by people and people are fucking idiots. christianity is no different than greek mythology in that it is a fairy tale that helps people explain the unexplained.

its not that God might not exist that's a problem, but rather people's 'image' they paint of something we don't know much (if anything, outside of inference) about. i don't think belief in god is bad, but creating a "he's like this/that" and forcing others to believe what u think "or else"...that's my problem with religion.

Well your basing your facts of of historical precedence, When though it might be true that a great 99% of man is corruptible, The basis of Socialism is that one human is entrusted with the leadership of the people and at the behest and trust of the very people hes to lead. Communism is based on the idea that humans are equal/work together to continue there very existence as a team.
