simple way to explain this... The water will get to low and the boats will get stuck... The way it works.... (for whoever wants to know) in every sluice there are slides. if u want to fern into a sluice, the water in the lake and sluice needs to be the same level.. (duh) That is controlled by the slides.. they can let water come out (so the level in the sluice rises) or let water get in (letting the water leven in the sluice drop) Really easy.. Hope this explains it to you

It is to control the water in the lakes. if there where no (I didn't knew the word but some translation site came up with the word Locks, Sluice-lock or just sluice. In holland it's called Sluis) So back to the story... if there where no Sluices the water in the lakes is not controlable and it would just flow into the occean.. so in this way the water in the lake is higher than the sea and boats are able to travel (if the sluices where not there the boats will get stuck on the ground for the

actually the same.. it also has a pressure ummm sense o.O ( im dutch so dont blame me for anything :P ) umm it is not really different from paper if you have the right settings on in photoshop or some other programme.. use the right brushes and all that but drawing on a cintiq is awesome.. dude in my class has one.. it feels like your drawing on very thin / glossy / shiny paper :p very sensitive bamboo is awesome and you can do pretty much the same as with a big one so :P

That is an awesome machine, seems like it'd be so much more natural than the standard WACOM tablet however, imagine by varying the distance to the surface and well basically imagine a digital dual action IWATA airbrush.....YES! no more needing to stop and select a brush size, just zoom in, pull out, press forward on the trigger less, pull back for full flow, etc...

You obviously have never tried using a Cintiq - "simple" is not the word to describe them - this is a serious piece of hardware for professionals built by the world leader of graphics tablets (Wacom). Google is a rather LARGE company and I'm sure they had the budget to afford this for him - I find it rather cool to see various variations on the google logo. Don't knock the Cintiq unless you've tried one. :)

I don't exactly agree with the assessment that Expo 86 screwed us up. If you check out the Aerial photos before Expo 86, you can google it and goto globalairphotos, Vancouver looked like a dump back then. I believe lumber used to be one of our major economies back then...that industry has drastically declined since. Expo 86 put us on the map, and with it brought tons of development, jobs, income, and resources. Yeah it's brought some problems as well, but it's probably worth it.
