It has nothing to do with racial prefrance or "trying to own everything". It's about making money. Fans of the story will probably see it regardless of who's in it but for everyone else the actors are the draw. That's why they put in actors people have heard of even if they don't necessarily fit the role appearance wise.

they aren't going to cut out Ron's poisoning. If you look at the new trailer, there's a scene with him, Harry and Slughorn taking a drink of something and Ron collapsing. But I agree! They chopped up parts of the last couple books. I'm most disappointed in DD, though, because the actor won't even bother to read the books! Ah well. Can't wait til the movie!!

Well, this was a great book, as were all the HP books, but I'm not sure they're gonna do a good job. So far, it looks like they're going to include Quiddech and Lavender Brown, so I'm seriously starting to suspect they're going to cut out Katie Bell's necklace and Ron's poisoning. This was a loong book, don't forget that. I just hope these guys manage to explain things a bit better this time around - my dad never read any of the books, and he didn't have a clue what was going on in the last two.
